Yeah, it was about 2.15ish so that could well have been the same machine.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

We were driving home from London on Wednesday afternoon when I noticed the life flight bird on the ramp at the Sarnia Airport. Not long after, we saw an ambulance heading to the airport. When we got home, I grabbed the kid and the camera and we headed back.....got there just in time to see this beautiful S-76 take off.

York is pretty much in the middle between Conningsby & Spadeadam so I guess it was on it's way back, it was heading south when I saw it.

Just a quick mention, I looked up Spadeadam on Google maps & there's a very interesting looking silhouete of a Su-17 on the range, a quick digging around confirms it is an ex-German Su-17.  There's plenty more mock ups too, tanks, SAM's, even a Scud launcher.  MIght be worth digging a bit deeper with Google Earth.

I'm a bit suprised the Captain's car held together in one peice. Transatlantic in a car would cause lots of problems like corrosion...

Mossie

Yeah, the sinking is a bit of bummer too!

A par of Sea Kings clattered past in the distance just now, heading for the sea. Heard them long before I spotted them, as usual...

Can't find my OS map right now, but there is a public footpath that runs right alongside part of Spadeadam - I've always wanted to take a stroll there to see what I could see.  When I did Hadrians Wall, in the bit to the south of the range there was a pair of Tiffies circling high overhead waiting to pounce on any unsuspecting prey :D

They really do look like circling birds of prey don't they???  I saw two playing above Hull Uni about a year ago, taking it in turns to pull some very tight circles around each other.  I was impressed by just how tight they were.

Last Sunday was a mostly clear day, there was some ground haze from the warmer temps and evaporating snow...anyway Sunday morning is a prime time to see numerous aircraft traversing the area at high altitude. Here is a B747 that departed Chicago bound for Sydney...if I remember correctly...that or Tokyo.

With more aircraft using the over the top of the pole route, I get to see more heavies originating not only from Chicago KORD but Dallas KDFW as well. We area also in the main "flyway" for east/west traffic as well. KSEA-KJFK as an example. Guess it is time to setup the tripod and start snapping pictures. It is fun to track the traffic on Flightaware.com and watch them through my spotting scope.

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.

First B747 I have seen with only two engines!

The skies over me have been remarkably empty lately, but I spotted this lovely machine in the parking lot outside work this morning.
