A Gazelle went over the house earlier, don't think I've ever seen one around here before.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Gazelles, are probably the most common helicopters to fly over my place, all army ones, with the occasional Lynx. The Nimrod has stopped coming over, whether, they have fixed it and it has gone home or it is grounded because they broke it I don't know. The Agusta A-109 still comes over like the owner has stole it. It flies between the isle of Man and Botany Bay in Chorley Lancs.

Apart from the SAR Sea Kings from Leconfield, I can't remember when I last saw a military helicopter around here.  There's nowhere other than Leconfield nearby & they only have a Flight of two.  I occasionaly see some at York when I'm working there, I've seen Lynxes, Chinooks, Puma's & even a pair of Apaches there once.  I think that part of York is on a military flight corridor.

Yesterday i went sailing yet again! I'm a bit sunburned by now, i look a bit like this smiley ->
This time a Robinson R-44 landed on the harbour (there's a rather high end restaurant next to the harbour, guests coming by helicopter are rather normal there).
Shortly after an EH-101 roared over!

Last time I saw a gazelle was about 4 years ago up at Hadrians Wall.  Saw an Apache last year flying low and slow over the village.  Saw a puma following the railway line into Grimsby at my old house about 4 years ago (VERY noisy).  Just don't see those choppers round these parts.

Yesterday was a fun day.  It is the kick off of Air Force Week which will finish with the Hill AFB Open House this weekend.
I was taking one of my kids to the Ortho in the morning when I saw a flight of 4 F-16 in line abrest.  Driving so no pics.

In the evening we were out mini golfing with my parents (who are in from Delaware for my other sons graduation) and a formation of 4 F-16s and a KC-135 flew down the valley.  My oldest had his camera but was too late.  However, they turned around and made another pass, then another and continued to do this for about 30 minutes.  Jeff got a couple pics and I am sure he will send me a couple to post.

Course, then we got a rain storm and that was the end of the golfing.

Bit of drama.  Driving through Lowgate in Hull, coming the opposite way was a lorry in quite a hurry with full blues & twos.  First thought was that it was Police (similar colours), but when it got close I could clearly read the title 'Royal Logistic Corp Bomb Disposal'.  Nothing on the news, no idea where he was going or what for.

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.

Nice job, Hawkeye.  That would be a pleasant surprise.

B-25?

Was walking round the local quarries (on the site of the old RAF Warmwell) this afternoon, and a Dassault Falcon with wing pods came howling over at low level.

Yeap a B-25 and the Falcon would of been one of FR's from Teesside, sorry Durham, Tees Valley airport.

whilst painting my Luchs 8x8 armoured car, I heard a very loud and slow moving helicopter going over, I did not recognise it, so I had a look out the window and it was a Navy Merlin going over the back, following the M61.

Saw the Falcon again today (at work this time, Chesill beach), and an AEW Sea King went over an hour or two later. Must be doing some training in the Channel.

Mmm.....Sea Kings.....

Just got in the door from work and the lovely wife said " did you see that white and red plane fly over ?" So, off to the airport I go !

You don't see these guys around here to often....bit of a stretch, I'd say. I actually saw this same plane out at Charlottetown a few years back, so that was cool. I'm also wondering if there aren't some covert operations going on, judging by the serial number on the gear doors....

And while sitting on the deck enjoying a full belly of Angus beef I heard a chopper. At first I thought it was the Chinook from Selfridge as it was so loud. But them old Huey's are pretty loud as well ! This was a treat, only wish it were closer....
