Gas Turbines. A lot of twins and large displacement singles are being converted over to turbine...more economical.

Yesterday whilst out the back repairing a fence, 2 Pumas went over, from a North westerly direction, then a bit later an army Gazelle went across from east to west. within 15 minutes the Augusta A-109 flew over pretty low. So it was a busy day for helicopters, and between all these a tornado was pootling about quite low, I think I may of heard a Tiffie about also as they have their own distinctive sound.

Its seems the British choppers are everywhere right now - saw a lesser spotted Puma this afternoon heading due west and very low.

And being a Puma, it made an infernal racket of course.
