Got a flyer through our door today - the village fete with the previously shown Dak raised £4130 for Help For Heroes :)

During the wee hours last night, a C-5 came in to DAFB & I could have sworn he was coming in through our front window and heading out the back window.  Low AND loud!

Took my boy for his first visit to Coningsby yesterday - tbh he was more excited about climbing "The Mound" and having fish and chips on a tray from the village chippie than he was about the planes.  Kids eh? :banghead:

Being a Friday, there wasn't a huge amount of movement, but more than most RAF bases on a Friday.

I saw a hot-air balloon while waiting for the local transit bus yesterday morning. It was sponsered by a local radio station. As the bus was leaving(with me in it), a car being used as a ground chaser(follows balloon) drove past, with a trailer behind carrying what probably is hot-air ballooning equipement.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Thanks Simon, also like this one which gives an impression of the busyness of Coningsby (and I must repeat, this on a FRIDAY which the RAF just don't do).

Sitting outside having lunch about an hour ago when this guy appeared, did a couple of orbits over the Clyde, and then set course SE over the house. While it is a common enough sight around the Scottish coast, it is not very often seen here at Prestwick.

The old NAS Dallas is just a few miles from here (oh why didn't I live here in the '90s when Tomcats and Scooters were overhead all the time).  Anywho, the Army Guard now roams the ramp with CH-47s.  Not that big of a deal, see them serveral times a month, but recently they've been SUPER active and I've seen them up just about every day for the last two weeks.  Wonder if they're slated for Iraq or the 'stan?

A model? Or real?

Real.  As seen at Oceana last September.

Eh? The first one is a T-37/A-37, the second one is a BAC Strikemaster or something along those lines.

Oops.  My bad.  I was fooled by the similar VNAF paint schemes.

South Vietnamese Strikemaster???  Is that a 1/1 Whiff???

My guess is it's supposed to closely resemble an A-37, movie bird?

Stepped out of my workplace at the right time as a red-coloured Sikorsky S-76 flew by.
