The inspector Caravan made another visit the next day and once he saw me on the ground waving and taking pictures he circled around again and gave me a wing wag.

Then yesterday a B757 brought in the NFL Football team that is playing the Packers on Sunday. When it departed it went over the house.

Not exactly over the house but just a mile away at the airport, a KC-135R was shooting some touch n goes the other evening.

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.

Just came back from a week of holidays in North east Czech Republic (right around the city of Opava) and the sky was almost crawling with ultralights of one descrition or another whenever the weather was nice.

Saw quite a few odd looking birds in the air while sitting poolside at the hotel.

Saw quite a few odd looking birds on the ground while sitting poolside at the hotel too. Why is it that the only women who take the notion to sunbathe topless are the ones who should have the good sense not to?

For a starter, all the best ones are hanging around in Sardegna, Italy. Quite a few on the boats around these parts.

Went to the Rugby today, surprised to see quite a lot of British Army equipment, a Leyland truck, MAN HX, Landrover & even an old Jeep.  They were there from the Defense School of Transport, part of an Army recruitment drive & also because the club has been active in fundraising for the Help the Heroes charity.  Our club mascot was ferried aound the club in the Landrover before the match, then at half time he marched a bunch of Squadies round the club!

Oh, and the score:  Hull Kingston Rovers 26, Saint Helens 10!!!

First time we've done the double over them in 27 years (beat them earlier in season away 19-20) & not many other clubs have since then.  Playoffs here we come!
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Yesterday a Czech air force PZL W-3 Sokol helicopter did a couple of low circles over the town centre.

I tried to catch it on my mobile phone camera, but it was just out of effective range.

The A380 came over the school today! T'was the Emirates A380 from Toronto, chasing an Emirates 777-200LR, presumably from North America too.

Saw  a Let 200 Morava doing circles over town today.

It's such a lovely twin engined GA type. I wish AZ Models would give us a kit of one in 1/72

About a year ago  I visited the airport at Kunovice (between Brno and Zlin) that was home to the Let aircraft company.

They have a small but nice museum there with a strong leaning to the activities and products of Let.

Here's a couple of pics of an early L-200A that resides in the museum:

These days it's usually the L-200D that you see flying, externally not very different though.

Such a lovely clean design for having come from Socialist drawing boards, no?

Been away for the last six days, four days in London, two in Gloucester.  Apart from sneaking a visit into IWM Duxford (I'll post pics when I get a chance), I was surprised to see quite a few aircraft over the week.  First was while travelling down the A1, just so happened that as we passed RAF Wittering, two Harriers went over the road for a conventional landing, perfectley timed!

In London, saw a Chinook & Lynx over Greenwich (& both again on different days), a Met Police Squirrel hovered over Leicester Square.  My wife's sister lifes fairly close to London City so quite a lot there, as well as the usual traffic going into Heathrow (we passed that too on the way to Gloucester & saw plenty coming in to land).

Less in Gloucester, but still managed to see a few light aircraft as well as some Grob Tutors & Vigiliants somewhere near Stratford upon Avon, can't remember where exactly.

Could have come from Wellesbourne Mountford - I think there's a UAS there.
