Noisy buggers aren't they?
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

1615 This afternoon, was in the car-park at Morrisons, Southport. About a thousand feet (maybe less) a 'Cessna type' single-engined float plane went across heading roughly northwest.

Long cabin, traditional Cessna empenage, two BIG floats, that seemed to go the whole length of the fuselage. Given that it was gusting 25-30kts, I'm fairly certain it wouldn't be landing in open water, maybe on it's way to the Lake District or further inland. Seemed to be struggling against the northerly wind though.

Long cabin with big floats, i'd say a Caravan Amphibian.

I am not equipped with a camera, but living on close proximity to the McClellan Air Park (Formerly McClellan AFB), I have seen, over the years, quite a few interesting a/c. They used to fly "Pregnant Connies" (EC-121s) in and out of there when I was a kid. One time an Avro Vulcan flew over my house en route to an Air Show at the above-mentioned base.

These days I often see OV-10 Broncos flying around in either Coast Guard or CDF (California Department of Forestry) colors. Sometimes a B-17 and/or a B-24 (or maybe B-25?) flies in to give rides for more than I can afford, but it's fun to see 'em flying around anyway. There are a couple of AT-6s that I've seen practicing formation flights on multiple occasions as well as a couple (possibly more P-51s that fly overhead (I assume they're either pottering around or perhaps flying up to Reno or Lake Tahoe).

The CDF runs a school for helicopter pilots that flies Robinson helicopters (what model/type I am not certain).

I wish I could provide pictures.
Not older than dirt but remembers when it was still under warranty.

I found a pic, and they're CDF planes:

Out walking the dog a couple of nights ago when I hear a sound and see an aircraft much lower than normal ind heading in a differenfdirection. as it gets closer I see

I presume the BBMF aircraft was heading home from somewhere.
"Inconceivable!"

"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

Hawkeye

Something that I've been seeing flying over the house a great deal lately finally landed nearby (in a tree in my back yard) so I could get a couple shots of it. It is a Broad Winged Hawk which has been patrolling the yard hunting for small animals.

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.
