Shame the AAC don't actually have Merlins.............

Isn't there some 'agreement' that limits the weight of AAC's aircraft? That's why the Pumas, Merlins and Wokkas are all in the RAF. And perhaps why the RAF don't have Lynxs or Apaches of any sort?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Yeap, it started at 5000lb's I think but has slowly crept up and at first the powers to be wouldn't let them fit weapons to the aircraft, seems they thought the pilots would get them selfs in to something they couldn't get out of.  ;D

Nice 412 pics Toadie  ;D

One autumn evening this year in front of my house landed this rescue helicopter of Czech AF - PZL W-3 Sokol

Wow! That must have been noisy to have it land on the street in front of your house, Karlik.

What was happening that it landed in the street like that?

Army of One

Not over my house but while at work....not to far from the heliport in Battersea....I was in the rear yard and heard the sound of helo's....look up and saw two dark green painted Sea Kings (Commando ?) flying low n slow...got a pic of one on the iphone I have...but it looks really small as the camera don't have a zoom n I ain't downloaded the app for the zoom, been told there is one for it.
BODY,BODY....HEAD..!!!!

Hawkeye

Not a great picture but you can see that it is a B747.

The other day this and several other heavies flew over the house. Seems they shifted the corridor for those aircraft departing Chicago, Atlanta and Dallas bound to Seoul, Tokyo and Oz a bit west, putting it right overhead. Before I could see them flying from south to north east of where I live. Funny how much noise a 747 can generate even at that altitude on a clear day. Checking Flightaware this flight was out of Chicago, chugging along at 30,000 feet when it suddenly made a 30 degree left turn...the vapor trail pic didn't turn out to show the sudden swerve in course. What a surprise! The passengers probably didn't expect it either.

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.

Saw a couple of Blackhawk choppers flying into Edinburgh airport today, about half past one this afternoon. Could have been one doing a couple of approaches. First time I've seen one outside of an  airshow.
