They've changed the approach pattern for ORF this week.  Now jets come out over the river and make a big banking turn toward the airport.  Sometimes they appear right over my house, like this bird from Southwest:

I didn't realize it at the time, but there seems to be another aircraft higher up, near the top right of the photo.

I use a Panasonic/Lumix DMC-FZ50 for all of my photography.

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.

Currently, I use an old Olympus D-550.  Anything I posted here prior to March 2009 was done with a Fuji Finepix A330.  They're just simple point-and-shoot pocket cameras, but I've learned over time to work around their weaknesses, and I think I've gotten some good photos.

Again not while at my house, sitting in my sons hospital room at East Surrey hospital I have heard a lot of aircraft/helo's as it is next to Redhill aerodrome. Just heard a helo take off n managed to see this one quick glimpse only though.....sure it was a Puma with a White body n blue tailboom. It also had dayglo orange chevrons on it's belly n i think flotation packs on the side but not 100% on that as it was climbing away n out of my view

Last night downtown Portsmouth and Norfolk did their "Grand Illumination" where all the buildings and streets are lit up with holiday decorations.  WAVY's Chopper 10 was hovering right over my apartment at an altitude of maybe 100 feet.  My camera doesn't do well in the dark, so I wasn't able to get any decent photos of the helicopter.

Ho Hum . . . Nothing exciting here.  Just a few C-5s, a C-17, a pair of C130s, the usual light planes (Cessnas, mostly).  And I heard (early in the pre-dawn hours) what I THINK might have been a F/A-18.

Just another boring day in Dover Delaware.

Probably one of these, they all carry the orange chevrons on the underside. http://www.airliners.net/photo/CHC-Scotia/Aerospatiale-AS-332L1-Super/1471992/&sid=fab739e4b9c14a35bbaa1756f7deca6d

Yeah, the various choppers that fly out of Humberside Airport over my house dozens of times a day to and from the rigs wear the same colour scheme.

Yorkshire Air Ambulance MD902 Explorer.  On my way to York this morning I came across a queue on the A1079 Hull to York road.  Flicked on the radio to find out a lorry had turned over on Arras Hill.  I turned round & diverted & spotted the Yorkshire Air Ambulance over Sancton.  Hope the driver is okay.  Apparently this stretch of road is the 7th most dangerous in Europe.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Paul, that certainly looks like the beastie......certainly heard loadsa activity while my boy was in hospital, this one soundedbigger/beefier than the others, usualy R22 n bigger R44 (?) so I made the effort to see if I could see this one.......The only really interesting thing to fly over my house was a Spit mk5 or 9 during the summer.....lovely. Usually get red tiger moths flying over and occaisionaly a pitts special doing aerobatics, but only when the weather is good.

Couple of days back a pair of RAF/Army Pumas went past my house, pretty low too, heading North parallel to the M6. A while later they both went back down, I see an Agusta A-109 nearly every day also and one or two Army Gazzelles flitting back and forth. Not seen much of the Typhoon or Nimrod for a while, weather must be to wet for them
