A very large and loud helo just flew over.  Couldn't see it for all of the trees but I'd guess it was a CH-53E.

Had a helo go buzzing overhead at about 19:00 but was only about 500ft up so I guess he got special permission. Although it's been really strange not seeing anything overhead today
Volcanic ash, is the problem. Nothing is flying in the UK today Lance.

Yeah I know that Jim, but living under the Heathrow Western TCA I'm used to having flying  thingies overhead all the time. It very odd not to hear jet engines overhead all the time

yesterday evening, at about 1820hrs, there i was sitting at my modelling bench when the
sound of a helicopter was heard. knowing it probably wasn't the warwickshire and northamptonshire
air ambulance [they are grounded due to the dust] saw after a few seconds of head turning
a sikorsky S76 or such flying north near coventry airport.

apparently also there was flight by the percival prentice from coventry to wellesbourne mountford,
but i didn't see that one.

Sort of Jim. It IS strange not hearing or seeing various lumbering giants flying overhead after living with them daily for most of my life!
I did see a small single engined job earlier today, but it was a bit of a way off so I couldn't ID it.

My wife's dad was in the Army and one time he was posted just outside Windsor and we used to go up to visit most weekends --- it was right under the western TCA too.  Are you near there then Lancer ?

IIRC we used to get off the M3 at Bagshot and we always rode right past Ascot which was on our right (going to Windsor), where abouts is the Safari Park? because we used to turn off not far from there to go to Windsor.  Would that put you just south of Reading , near Whitley  (I'm looking at google maps here LOL )

Was surprised in the garden today by a low flying green/yellow Eurocopter EC135 which then landed in the nearby school and departed there a short while later. When it left I realised it was the Essex Air Ambulance.

Strangely a very similar machine but this time in red and white flew by shortly afterwards.
I think it was the Herts Air Ambulance who fly an MD 902 Explorer.

I really hope they were on recruitment runs and that nobody was severely hurt at my old school.

Our mayor is complaining and firing off letters about low flying A-10s from the MI ANG in our area. What an idiot. Wonder if he thinks all the Seagulls will protect us ?

Saw a old-style biplane flying overhead, with a small 1930's-style civilian plane with spats following it a couple of seconds later.

On my way home from work I saw a Grumman E-2 on final approach to Dover AFB.  It seemed to just materialize out of the low clouds . . .

Wasn't over my house, obviously, but I saw this nice Sabre in Frankenmuth, Michigan on Monday.
