Saw a Jet Ranger myself today, rarely see these any more.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Not a real aircraft, but I "walked" into a photo of a model of my Dad's B-25 on line a few minutes ago.

Here's the link . . .

5th air force, New Guinea, 1943-44.

Totally freaked me out!

And a tear or two . . . Miss you, Dad!

Any photos of his real aircraft?

Wishful thinking.  I remember ONE that's ONE photo when I was a wee lad of @ 6 or  so, but the box of photos we had was destroyed in a basement flood somewhere around 1962 or so.  And the Real Thing crashed and burned on June 6, 1944 in Northern New Guinea.  The name "Bitch n Witch" name is what caught my eye a;long with the tail flash.  Those are two things I remember from that one photo.

BTW, if anyone Out There has any information on the 5th Air Force in the Southwest Pacific, I would love to know.

Forgot to mention saw an MC-130 out of Mildenhall last Monday doing some terrain-following.... while behind a 94xx pannier tank on the Gloucestershire & Warwickshire.

That was a good day.

About 20:00 last night, I heard a familiar sound in the air over so I went outside for a look and lo and behiold there was a gorgeous Spitfire flying overhead at about 500ft and at about 600 yards distance. It was silouetted by the setting sun, but it looked bloody beautiful. It was flying a SE - NW track.

And you didn't get a photo Lancer???!!!  Grrrrr.....

Reminds of a day many years back.  Was working outfront with the parents and I heard what sounded like a loud lawnmower.  I looked up and a Blue-Gray over Light Gray F4F-3 Wildcat flew down the street at about 200'.  Actually circled above a few times and did a few rolls before heading off elsewhere.  It was very awesome and I'll never forgot it.

Would you Adam & Eve it, went down to Heathrow yesterday & didn't see a dicky-bird, mount ecky-thump is quiet as well.  The only thing of interest was a giant A-380 model in the middle of a roundabout acting as an Emirates advert.

I stepped outside this morning to hear a helo approaching at high speed.  Naturally I didn't have my camera in hand.  I could tell it was a Bell, at first glance a 230 (I thought I saw sponsons).  I ducked back into the house and grabbed my camera in case it came back through.  Not a minute later it hove into view, coming back over at treetop height.  The "sponsons" I thought I saw appear to be panniers or stretcher carriers, and it looks more like a Jet Ranger or one of the derivatives.

That's the first decent aircraft photo I've gotten in weeks.

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.
