At around 1 p.m. yesterday, as I was putting my laundry into the dryer, I noticed a sound of jets. The thing was that jets rarely flew near my house & the jets sounded as if they are a formation of aircraft.

To cut the story short, I manage to get outside on their 3rd pass. The next sight made my day, a Mig-15 & F-86 warbird formation flew low over my apartment.

They came for the airshow at the nearest airport, luck would have it that I will watch the airshow nearby today as one of my co-workers found a good spot to watch.

Kinda awesome when 2 warbirds(including my first ever Mig sighting!) do a pratice airshow right over my neighbourhood!

Watched the Snowbirds do their awesome act yesterday at my local airport for their annual airshow & as I was going by the airport, I saw the aft part of a Sea King from behind a building. Also saw the Mig-15 & F-86 flypast my neighbourhood again earlier that day at around the same time as the flypast the day before.

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.

You bet! This must have been amazing... especially when you consider that at some point in history these two would have fought it off to death! I remember how weird and amazing it was to see MiG-29s and Su-27s fly over Le Bourget at the end of the 1989 International Paris Air Show. Low and slow, over the city, departing the airport back to their Russian bases. Only a year before that the notion of this happening would have been unimaginable.

The first Mig-15 I ever saw flying was back in 1996, it was being used as the Pace Plane at the Reno Unlimited Races

That is just vapor condensation from the low pressure (induced lift) that has formed above the wing. It is probably quite humid at that altitude or he's at a high AOA or airspeed.

Looks like it, unusual to see one with float gear.  There was one over the house the other day, noisy, clattery things!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Logan Hartke

It looks too short to be an R44.  I'd say it's an R22.

Cheers,

Logan

Not exactly over my house, in fact about 50 miles away at the time, but WTH....  ;D

I was driving past Kemble airfield this morning, en route to my old office in Cirencester, and the usual scrap yard at the north east end of the runway was HEAVING with stuff. 4-5 x 737s, a couple of Airbuslets, and an MD-80, or half of one anyway. The centre parking slot was filled by an ex-DHL A310 and a 737 and an MK Airlines 747-200 was over on the west end of the field, but......

Sitting on the runway threshold was a TYPHOON for goodness sake! Quite what it was doing there I have no idea, their airshow was last weekend, but enough people realised it was very unusual that the lay-bye south of the runway was double-parked for its entire length!  ;D

It was an Italian Typhoon too, or looked like it, as just as I screamed to a halt it taxied off down the runway and off behind the Delta Jets hangar, and never re-appeared darn it. I phoned my daughter, who would have been giving it take-off clearance from Brize Tower, to ask about it but she's not replied yet.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
