Not at home,on the train into work.....just outta gatwick heading north and as the trn crossed the M25 saw a fleeting glance of what I'm sure was a sea king in the distance either coming towards or flying away but above the M25.......brightened up my eve.....just gotta do a12hr night now.....

Batting along by the River Severn at Newnham along the A48 this afternoon, en route back home, I heard the unmistakable 'WhUP WhUP WhUP' of a Chinook somewhere close by. Mrs PR19 suddenly yelled 'WOKKA!' in my ear as an HC3 thundered past us along the river and only just higher as well! 

He was doing 'Nap-Of-The-Earth' flying, or in this case 'Nap-Of-The-River', and turned away to clear the Newnham cliff as he headed off south. Fantastic sight, just wish we could have stopped and got some piccies, but unless we'd carried the cams 'locked and loaded' there was no chance.

Just had the Red Arrows fly over our house flying East in a formation of 4 and then 5 aircraft. I suppose its the approach route to Manchester that means military aircraft when using the flight corridor over the pennines always appear to be relatively low compared to the comercial traffic. Great to see and not that common but you certain can hear and see them clearly when they do

We're having some really high and gusty winds here today. Spotted someone's Shorts blow'in in the wind!  It shot several approaches into KATW.

Stopped over in a hotel nr Yeovil yesterday, which turned out to be one field away from Westland's factory and airfield. 

Most of the afternoon we were buzzed by various GA aircraft, plus a Queen Air later on, but none of which were photographable. Late in the afternoon Westland flew a Danish Merlin off, which did numerous circuits, presumably crew training, and one of their flights came right over the hotel at around 250-300 ft!

yesterday it was a closeup of the Notts police Eurocopter...........the Tesco's 200 metres away got robbed.......coppers everywhere!

Neophyte pilot most probably.  There is always one who lags behind in a formation.  I can hear the chatter now, "No.3 close up!"  

Had a pair of F/A-18s fly over yesterday.  I was inside but the sound of their engines was pretty unique and loud.  We occasionally get Pilatus P-9s from Pearce RAAF Base going past along the coast but I haven't heard F/A-18s for a long time.   We're just coming up to the SASR jump training season - every October they start doing water jumps into the ocean between Perth and Rottnest Island where they get picked up by boats.  The circuit takes them right over my suburb and they fly low and slow.  Used to use Caribou.  I wonder what this year will be?  Perhaps the civil CASA C-212 they used a couple of years ago?

Not home.....at work....RAF yellow Sea King just landed at Heliport Battersea.....from RAF Kinloss on a mercy mission....closely followed by a white n blue Augusta 109...

XH558 flew over me Mam's house about 1pm this afternoon.  Top that!
