Seen over my plane today ;D

Up near the tailplane about 500 yards out

Taxiing  to take off

There were 15 Idaho ANG A-10's right across the runways. I caught 4 move out for take off but never could see them launch  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Lovely, the A-10 was of one of the aircraft I used to spot most when I was a kid back when they were still based in the UK.  They used to skirt my village on the way to a nearby offshore range.  Somtimes we used to go watch the Hogs open up with that Avenger, as kids we thought it was hillarious hearing them fart!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Glad I could bring back good memories Mossie ;D I also remember them fondly . They used to support us 82ND Airborne dudes. I hope they never die

Some years back Mrs PR19 and I were walking along the top of Worms Head, out on the south west corner of the Gower Penninsula in S Wales. Two fully loaded-up A-10s came came whining past to our south, about 1000 ft up and turned north toward the ranges. They then proceeded to beat up S Wales and eventually came back toward us but a lot lower.

As Worms Head itself is about 3-400 ft high they were only a few hundred feet above our level and as they turned west Mrs. PR19 started waving and leaping up and down, as is her wont when aircraft pass close by. The leader of the A-10 pair promptly made a 180 and came back directly overhead, and as he approached us he flipped the aircraft inverted and waved back through the canopy!  ;D

Somewhere I have 35 mm print of the A-10's cockpit with the guy waving, taken pointing straight up as he passed overhead. Mrs. PR19 was ecstatic, and told everyone for DAYS afterward how she'd had her own personal flypast!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.

Fragments and projectiles are probable. Armor offers little or no protection. Expect a sudden rise in temperatures followed by a burning sensation.

Now this IS over the house!  Upset 61 Heavy spend about an hour in the pattern today doing various types of approaches...including some high speed breaks over the field to circle in for a touch n go.

I ventured up onto the roof and was treated to these as it passed.

A dark coloured Agusta A109 flying low over the A1079 Hull to York road.  There was a camo'd Land Rover in a layby nearby so I guess they were connected.  Probably one of the RAF's A109E's, or possibly one of the Army's A109A that we permanently borrowed from Argentina to take the Hereford Gun Club on day trips.

On a field trip we drove by the now defunct Pate Museum of Transport. I really want to go back and get better pics of the Voodoo, which is one of the original batch supplied to the RCAF.

I'd also like to see more of this Boxcar. Apart from seeing the one fly into St. John's ( heading overseas for the remake of.....) it's the only one I've ever seen. Love to get up close to it....
