Tampere. Some people like to call ot Tammerfors.
There's a Wing with all sorts of transport and research/experimental duties nearby in Pirkkala.

Yep. I've read about it.
Myself, I'm on the coast east of Linkoping, SWE, i.e usually where the ELINT and AEW assets go in and out when listening in on the russkies.

Not seen, but heard at 9:55 pm last night, a loud noise from outside.   Listening to the local news this morning, it turns out it was a meteor  (space rock, not aircraft) disintegrating  above Herefordshire.

Admit you're a bit disappointed it wasn't the Gloster variant..  ;D

The pulsating green glow. ;)

That weird, not right shade of ooze leaking out of it

Plus being at the bottom of a smoking crater.

Quite often with a Doctor waving a gadget at it and muttering 'It must be something to do with the frequency!'....

And, depending on which Doctor, a cordon of Army chaps with army green Land Rovers with "UNIT" on the side

Captain Canada

Been catching lots of KC-135s lately. One was from Grissom in Illinois, was easy to spot doing circuits over MI leaving contrails that looked like an oval race track ! Would have been nice to have been closer to see who she was feeding. A MI Based KC-135 just flew overhead now. Always nice to see one of my favourite aeroplanes. I'd post pics, but you seen one, you seen 'em all lol.

Cheers

Flyer

Didn't see it but heard it and looked at Flightradar24 to see what it was, a RNZAF P-3K Orion droning over at 3:30am (the joy's of having a restless toddler ). If it's the same one each time or not I don't know but RNZAF Orion's have been going over rather regularly the last few week's, must be doing something with the RAAF...

Lots of action around here lately. French air force A330, RAF Voyager, C-17s and this big beauty. I'm assuming Red Flag is on the go.

I bought a Jintu 420-800mm lens for my camera to try. Of course, as soon as I'm taking it out of the box, a USAF C-17 flies over. I didn't have time to adjust the settings and didn't get a good pic. Blue skies today, but nothing about at the moment.

It's manual focus, and needs a tripod, and somebody with better eyes than me ! We'll see what we can do with it tho.

Police Vulcanair P68.  Doing very tight turns in the twilight then went on it's way.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Rheged

So far today, we've had four pairs of Typhoons over Chateau Rheged today.   Our place is part of an old  workhouse (we have the workhouse master's accommodation)  and the building is a very distinctive double H layout  when seen from the air and I think the RAF use us as a waypoint.
