Been seeing an AW-139 coming and going regularly lately, I had a look at the local airport Facebook page to see if there is a statement as to why but there was nothing of any indication, did see an older post congratulating the RAAF on their recent anniversary, with a single picture of a F-22 :banghead: :banghead:

Sunday the Victoria Police chopper overflew stately zen manor three times at low level during the day.
I stood in the open and waved the first time but it can't have been me they were after.

They obviously needed to check if they went over thrice though, guilty looking face ?

Driving into Hereford 1) to do some shopping and 2) to take Rheged minor in for his first Covid jab.     As we drove towards Credenhill (the SAS place)  we noticed their helicopter high above .  4 black dots fell from the machine, and a few seconds later parachutes opened and the four  dropped into the site.

Did you drive in to see if they were okay?

Used to happen every year just off the coast of Perth, Western Australia in the strait between Rotnest Island.  The SASR used to do their qualifying jumps into the ocean, during daylight and night.  My kids used to regularly report about Hercules flying low over their school.  I used to take SWMBO for walks along the beach and we'd look out and see people tumbling out the back of a Hercules.

I suspect that Modplod on the gate would have objected!

I have been reliably informed that an SASR trooper dropped and landed early today in the middle of a soccer game at Ocean Keys in the North of Perth, instead of the ocean off shore.  I understand he was handed a yellow card by the referee.  I am sure he got a bollocking from his RSM as well.   :banghead:

More Finnish Air Force traffic than usual. I'm right under the main approach.
- 6 or 8 Hawks approaching for single landings: first 2 in the ex-Swiss red and white, 2 in grey, another 2 in red and white --- and one more pair of red and white, which might have been one of the pairs going around.
- Pilatus PC-12
- Learjet going unusually fast and low - and again (not sure if it was the same one) They were near enough to see the codes ... if you remember to look.
- Hornet (only saw one before going inside)

edit:
As usual, my sister who lives near the airport/base checked the Air Force site for what is going on: The Air Force Academy is visiting for an exercise.

Nowhere near me but aviation news anyway:

A USAF KC-135 Stratotanker went 150m past the end of the runway at Rovaniemi, Finland, today. Rescue crews were alerted at 16.45, local time. Apparently the landing gear was damaged. The airport/base is closed while the aircraft is being emptied of fuel. After that, it will be removed from the runway extension.

There's an international exercise in the area, with bases in Sweden and Norway too.

This morning, a yellow helicopter  with the word  ELECTRICITY  on the side   flew slowly over at very low height..  This afternoon, a couple of "Western Power" vehicles with high lift  platforms on the back arrived outside Chateau Rheged   and chaps are  fiddling with a transformer on a pole in the next field.

I assume that the helicopter identified a major problem and they are putting it right.       The only other explanation is that the helicopter had an electric motor (unlikely)

You keep telling yourself that.  It's exactly what they want you to think...

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

The Red Arrows have just arrived here at Prestwick, and as we are CAVOK they did the full vertical Arrows arrival. Fantastic!!
