Just had a hummingbird fly into the yard. It was feeding on some flowers and then noticed me. It hovered about five feet away and stared straight at me for about thirty seconds. Apparently it decided I didn't look like food and flew off. That's the second time I've had that happen.
Then a turkey vulture soared over which may have had something to do with the disappearance of the hummingbird.

Aeropro Eurofox 912.  So quiet I could only hear it when it was overhead, tiny wee thing.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Been a bit busy overhead the last few days. Hurricanes, Spitfires in pairs and alone and, a Seaking and a Wessex, all either going to or from Duxford

There I was, picking another batch of autumn fruiting raspberries with the local buzzard family circling above me, mewing gently, when an A400M came thundering out of Wales and over our establishment ridiculously low and far too noisy.  Then peace returned, the buzzard family apparently undisturbed by the intrusion into their airspace.

I sure wish I lived near to a place like Duxford. I'd settle for an air base with some flying activities. Screw the noise, it's the sound of freedom. Once and a while in the summer something flies over on the way to or from Oshkosh.

The local Police Eurocopter's been trundling around o'head y'day and today.

Very odd if they're looking for someone, could they hide for THAT long?

They're not have a speeding purge then, or are they not used as air traffic patrol.

Not today, but a couple days ago - something low, loud, and rotary.  I almost wonder if it was a VH-3\VH-60 heading back to Andrews from NYC, and they decided to do some low altitude VFR for currency.

Speeding? In the Forest of Dean?  :o

I should be so lucky, far too many tractors, sheep and wild boar all over the road to speed! The chopper headed back to Staverton around lunch time and hasn't reappeared since.

The Police were flying their EC145 over Epping Forest for a long time last night. FB suggests there was some sort of high speed chase down Epping New Road and lots of police cars involved. All is quiet now.

Looking for petrol ?  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

;D ;D ;) ;)

Oh very good, but their Eurocopter runs on kerosene, or a close derivative anyway.

Heard, not seen (because the cloudbase is at about 250 feet  at present)  a series of heavy, multi-engined turboprops.  Could be almost anything but most likely Herculii or similar.

While cruising on the Norfolk Broads, as you do, our boat was buzzed by a couple of F-15Es heading east at GREAT speed!

Most impressive., and LOUD!

Later on one of them came back and did an impromptu air display at some altitude, so much of an altitude that only the bottom of his loops were seen below the clouds!

Very different from Gloucestershire.
