There is currently  a Beechcraft King Air up there in the darkness flying anticlockwise circuits of Mount Martha at an altitude of about 1300m.
This is POL35 (VH-PVE), a VicPol signet aircraft.  It will be listening to someones mobile phone.
That person isn't me because it is overflying rather than orbiting me.  The centre of its orbit is the top of the hill where the golf club is.

<edit>  just after I posted this it stopped doing laps and headed North.

As it was Sunday night I expect it was more likely they ran out of overtime...

A Chinook just flew over me. I don't remember seeing one here before. It didn't show on tracking sites.

I'm pretty sure it was yellow! The first thing about yellow Chinooks that I could find is that the Italian Army has one???

As an aside after seeing the name Chinook. I was watching an episode of Midsomer Murders and everyone was pronouncing Chinook as 'Chin-oook'. It's an Indigenous name and around here they pronounce it 'Shuh-Nuk'. It mean a warm wind --- keep quite at the back there, that's not as in f%&t

It's always been 'Chin-oook' in the UK, except when it's a Wokka.  ;D

Yeah, I was reading that's what they do, but not correct  ;)  The name comes from the native Chinook Band of BC

First, I thought that somebody started a really big diesel engine a few streets away. Then I realised the sound came from something that was flying.

In Aus a Wokka is a UH-1 Iroquois (Iro-kwoy), a CH-47 Chinook (Chin-ook) is a Chook. ;D

In the US Army it's a sh1t-hook as it's always carrying around a load of crap on the hook on its belly.

The local crop duster is putting on a show just south of town today. They have been very busy lately. There must be something infecting the corn or soybeans.

In the Army an Iroquois was simply a Chopper.  A Chinook was an "Angry chook"...

Rheged

About an hour ago, an Apache came over Chateau Rheged at about 250 feet. It seems to have been coming from SAS Credenhill and heading towards Shobdon airfield.

Madame R reports another two Apaches this afternoon, very low indeed.  She only saw the second one properly, and reports that the driver was  taking great care to avoid the village church spire.
