Selfridge's Planes In Photos

Been meaning to post these for a while.

This year, I've been golfing once a week at Selfridge, and these pics are the view off of hole number 3 at the golf course (these were taken with my cell phone, a Samsung Blackjack with a 3 Megapixel camera (no real focus, no flash, all in all, not a bad little camera)).  These pics were actually taken on the windiest day of the year, with gusts in excess of 50mph on the course:






Next up are the Michigan National Guard's CH-47's (they've got five assigned, though I've only seen three at one time.  I think the other two are still deployed overseas).  These were taken with my new digital camera that likes making pics about 2.5 MB's when taken.  The first pic was taken the first day of my vacation, when I was northbound to the express way (I was moving about 50mph).  The second was taken Friday, as I was getting out of Hooter's Fridays lunch (standing still).




Heh... I just noticed that the two in the second pic had their rear ramps down.  That camera is better than I thought.  I couldn't see that with the naked eye (of course, that Hooter's just got their liquor license, so you do the math).

The CH-47's fly by my house regularly (as well as UH-60's, HH-65's, and KC-135's), so I'll eventually take more pics.

Love the Chinook...and you're right, that camera ain't bad at all !

We'll have to make a 'play date' so you can take me around to these good hiding spots and I can get some more pics. I can't believ how close you were to the ramp full of KCs !

Heh, and the last two pics are shrunk from their original size, where you can REALLY see detail (you can almost make out the windows at the distance I was at).  I really gotta figure out this camera...

That ramp is right off of the third hole at the golf course.  The scenery on the front nine is definitely better than the back nine at the base's course.
