Hi guys!

I'm a looking for decals, colour options etc for USAF trainers. I want to what-if either a Hawk.100 or a Kawasaki T-4. I'm leaning towards the Hawk at the moment with the T-4 to be done in CAF colours...

Are there decals for the Texan II in 1/48 yet as I'm quite drawn to its attractive colour scheme. Or what whout you suggest?

Thanks for the info and/or looking!

Well if you want to use the prevaling trend, go Gloss White with Gloss Navy Blue (close enough, but i aint sure) trim. If you want to be a little more colorful, there always the myriad of non-white schemes use of the T-38s.

I think a Hawk.100 in the gloss white/blue would be the schizznizz!

a USAF variant of the T-45 would look very good.

i did the airfix 1/72 hawk in USAF vietnam era cam' and markings from the
academy A-37B kit a while back. but the scheme that the T-38C's from the IFF
course at moody AFB wore would look good on a hawk too.

ah, so many ideas and so little time to build them.

The current USAF trainer scheme is white and Insignia Blue (FS 15042).  With the T-45 you run into the "not invented here" syndrome (ie: the USAF would sooner die than buy a Navy trainer).  I rather like the L-39 Albatros in USAF markings, and the Eduard 1/72 kit is a real little gem.

So the USAF buys a variant of the proposed, non-carrier-rated T-45B, ending up basically with a Hawk or Hawk100, and everyone is satisfied?  Nah, that's too common-sense to get through Congress, in either party's control.

I'll drink to that

Now I would like to see H100s & H200s in aggressor/ADAIR colors

I know, I know!  How about T-38s?  Still the best fast jet trainer in the world, 50 years later :)

How about upgraded T-38s that mate the T-38 cockpits and nose with the remainder of the F-5E and outfitted with a fully modernized equipment fit?  Given the modular nature of the F-5/T-38 fuselage structure, that's not a structural problem.  You could fit the F-5A/B tip tanks to the wings and the aircraft would appear appropriately non-threatening as a trainer should, but be capable of more if needed.  All the present T-38 schemes would still be applicable, you'd just have a more capable platform for training.

I took it one step further Ev:

It's the TF-20Ex, a lead-in for both the standard F-20 & the downgraded F-5A/F-20 hybrid, based on the front end of a F-5B mated to a F-20 aft fuselage with the F-5s wings & hor. stabilizers.
