QuoteOh, come on!  SIX MONTHS?!  You can probably get as much participation, if not more (since people won't be distracted by the holidays) in three to four months.

There's all this interest at the beginning, then, six months later, maybe ten completed entries, whereas, with the 1-weekers (and other shorter duration GB's like the Airfix one), you get that and maybe more completed models.  I'm serious.  Go look in the Knacker's Yard at the GB's and how many completed builds there are in each one (except the ancient ones, where they never really finished).

BTW pm me next time  you have a problem. I've spoken with Brian da Basher and he has also recomended a shorter time frame. Therefore I've amended the time scale.

So if anyone who is ACTUALLY in this GB has a problem with the new 3 month time frame please PM me and we can discuss it.

Thanks

ok, so now we can begin in some two weeks time [or so we hope] on this GB.

hmm.... apart from using 1/700 hinomaru's on a JASDF EF-111J
with all the madness that might imply, [actually its an ultra low-vis scheme] what
other entries are people thinking of.....

lets see shall we.  :tornado:  :tank: and as there is no ship emoticon all welcome.

Yup two weeks. I can't wait to see the ship models even though I'm not really a ship builder :D

Not that possibly outre, Wings/Airpower had some pictures of a F-100 with the standard gunsite radar replaced by an air-to-air radar in a radome that made the resulting aircraft look reminiscent of a F-86D.  Of course, there's also the original F-100B design.

I think I'm in!! That's interesing, cause I start thinking about JSDF models (thanks Archie: he gives me some red roundels) last night, before seeing this thread!!

Actually, I will participate, probably with a Eurofighter Typhoon fitted in air-to-sea or air-to-ground fighter-bomber, and/or with a Harrier GR-5, probably heavily modified (add a radar, a FLIR etc...) for multipurpose in the Japanese Navy!!

This GB is a very cool idea!! After all, I have this Hasegawa JASDF weapon set for YEARS and I never use it!!

I probably won't get involved in this one, but here's a little inspiration:

I must have posted it half a dozen times, but it's always worth another one!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

With a start date of August 1st, it could be finished by August 12th, depending on how focussed I am around then....bearing in mind I want to finish an awful lot of kits in the week from August 5th to 12th.....possible as Mid'll be in Spain, Portugal and Morocco for that week (and the week after!)
So lots possible....think conveyer belt.

I did a sponsored 24 hour model a couple of times, and I can tell you that intensive modelling over a longish period of time....just need coffee, food, models and good music....allows a tremendous amount of things to be completed.
