I'm with those that want to keep the name as is. I will pitch in as well. I'm glad to help as much as I can. :)

Keep the name as is for reasons listed above.

I was using Gallery Remote on my clubs site (until the current prez and toadies decided to do things their way but thats another story).

It could be set up so anyone authorized to add pictures to it.  The moderator could either ok everything before it posted or set it so it just went through depending on the source.

I have been, er, hoarding profiles and would love to see them in their own section.

I have some funds coming the end of the month but they are earmarked for the Nats.  When I return, if there is any left over, I could donate or might also go the kit sale route to help.

Keep the name as it is - it definitely isn't broken.

I pledge support in monetary form. Just say when and where.

Hi Tom
And I'm naturally more than willing to pay my share if you'd like to tell he how it should be sent safely.
Even cash cunningly hidden inside a greeting card would be okay by me.
All you have to do is tell me how much you need from me. And don't be shy either, mate.

Keep the name, please.  Change there would only confuse folk who've been away for a while, for whatever reason, and I do agree with the "If it ain't broke ..." approach.  I'll gladly contribute via Paypal, just let me know the mechanism and I'll see what I can do at the next paycheck.

My vote is to keep the name as it is. As for a contribution, just let me know when and how to send it.

I agree with everybody else on the name. don't change it.

Happy to send any contributions and any kits for a sale.

Just say when and how.

I've just mastered paypal so I 'll help  ;)

French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Yep, keep the name.

Let us know when you've got the paypal thing sorted and I'll stump up the cash.......given the current exchange rate it shouldn't take many contribution in Sterling to meet the target! ;)

But yeah, the forum software on Britmodeler rocks, way more features than our dear old board, so hopefully we can raise enough cash to fund it.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Got to thinking about some other fundraising alternatives in addition to the kit sale; if this'll be agreeable, I'll donate 100% of the net proceeds from sales of download versions of the following books:

all you have to do is mark "whatif" in the PayPal payment notation so I know who the payments are from. That way, the contributors get something in addition to the satisfaction of having kept this little community afloat. All we need is approximately 45-50 folks buying both books, and we'll have enough for renewal and and the new forum software.

Note: in the spirit of full disclosure, net proceeds = the price of the download, minus the PayPal fee I get charged, and $1 I set aside from each sale to cover the monthly cost of the downloading service I use.

thanks

Ditto for me. I don't have PAypal but I can send my share of the cost to someone over here who does have it. I'll scrape together what I can as I am seriously financially strapped at the moment, but I WILL do my bit.

Please keep the old name.

I am willing to donate some $ if you will accept U.S. Money orders. I don't have one of those paypal thingies.

Whatever you decide...just tell me where to send the bucks.

Quote3) I've talked to the Steve from ARC and Mike from Britmodeler and they are quite enthused about the newest version of Invision's Forum software. You've seen it for yourself and allows for quite a bit of personalization and flexibility. It's also more secure/hacker-proof from what I understand. Unfortunately it's also about US$245. If we can pool US$310 this year (renewal + forum software) would you guys be interested in converting to the new forum?

Would we be able to embed videos instead of just providing a link? If not then I would say it's not worth it.
