As nobody has put any photos from Fairford up, I thought I would share these with you guys. Basically, the first 4 were shot in poor weather.

The next 3 are just random shots I chose.

If you want more, let me know, I took over 2000 shots during the week.

Terrific....thanks Ted.

The "Miss Velma" appearance started me off on a trail to discover the most likely colours of the original.....the "new" one is certainly pretty close from what I've discovered (via books, the web, etc).
I've a current "build project/article writing project" on Miss Velma. too.
It's certainly fun.
Don't despair though...F-4 number 10 "arrived" on the cutting board yeaterday!!
See you at AVON....weather/floods permitting (same for Doncaster on the 12th)

Once you've visited the land of the Loonies, a return is never far away.....

Sweet ! The heavy air always makes for dramatic shots at airshows.....nice work capturing that !

Also love the pic of the Lynx demo. Now that I'd love to see !

Great pictures - especially the Lynxes! Thanks for sharing them.

A couple of additional photos. This first one was the definite star of the show.

This is the R99 AEW aircraft from Brazil. The radar is Israeli. I don't know much more than that. I have been round several forums, and this aircraft has not been mentioned. SHAME.

This one is a bit more obvious.

Let me know if you want any more.

Great pics Ted, although this seasons airshows have largely been washouts, the humidity & dark skys have made for some great pics & shows the reheat up a treat.

Are those Lynxes really as close as it looks like???   I know they tend to use angles & forced perspective to make it look closer, but they really do look like they could have hit if they were a fraction nearer!!!

All 2000 please! :P    ;)

Seriously (what's that?), please feel free to post more, I've always wanted to go to Fairford but never quite made it, I'll get there one of these days.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Mossie, thats the advantage of a telephoto lens.
Forced perspective is wonderful.

I'll post a few more over the coming days, but not all of them

Great stuff ! That Brazilian bird would definately be cool to see....a very rare sight indeed, especially way over there ! Not as cool as a Canadair ASTOR, tho.....

The next 2 are a couple of special schemes that caught my eye.
The first is a Czech Aero L159.

The next is a very nice Greek C-130. 2 nice Herks in 2 years running. Note the unusual roundel.

This third one wouldn't be believed even on a what if table. Apparently this is the result of an accidental(?) spraying by the dead sparrows.

More to follow if you wish.

The L159 & Herc have great schemes, thanks for posting again Ted!  How did the Team Aguila get the 'accidental' spraying???  Was it from the dye they add to the smoke?  That pigment gets on everything, used to work with similar stuff in my first job in a paints lab.

Yeah, intriguing!

From what I heard and this is pure rumour, the Reds had some sort of flightline incident as they were taxiing past the Aguilas, but I didn't see it myself. The stuff must have been all over the canopies as well. Wonder how long it'll be before they get their own back.

Try here and here.  BTW, the radar is Swedish (the Ericsson PS-890 Erieye) not Israeli.
