I really like the extra-long nose guns, Carlos!

If that was mine, I'd be keen to replace that rear cockpit with a turret.

I'm looking forward to seeing this one all painted up!

If it was me building that, I'd test fit the nose from an A-10 on it. 30 mm death from above!

Good job on the build otherwise, I have to get a P-38 for my collection.

Pesonally I'd jettison the under fuselage ECM pod as the point of COIN was to work for the most part in your own airspace to COunter INsurgents, therefore there would be no need for ECM.... however it is your model and you do whatever you feel is right....

....like the rest of the guys say. the tip-tanks are just perfect !

I may be wrong but I took Vietnam Invader as a model. This plane was considered by some as a COIN . Its electronic suite was considerable. In this case, the 'insurgents' were in fact a real army
Perhaps, the point is that F-38 should not be called COIN

I'd say it depends on what level of support these "insurgents" have from outside the country.  If they've been able to smuggle in adequate SAM resources, I could see an ECM pod being necessary.  I doubt it would be needed everywhere, but I could see them establishing a sanctuary where it would be needed.  It's not the most likely scenario, but it is a plausible one.

I am not painting, with airbrush, much becase it is cold. It only need canopy masking and painting. As you can see.
