How do you expect the wee dude to drive the tractor with no arms ? I mean, I know the Germans resorted to some slave labour...but this is ridiculous !

;)

Now, I gotta say, that is one cool looking bird ! Very well done...love the design, and the execution ! Great little dio scene as well.

This is entirely due to the arms shortage towards the end of the war :D

The base is from MDF (moronic designers favorite) 6mm base 12mm at one end and 4mm slope. The wood on the ramp is wood hull planking remaining from a ship kit build glued sanded and stained. The paved areas are slices of plasticard, glued with cyano and liberally painted with liquid glue to show wear. The cobbles are tiny balls of milliput. The stone `harbour`is milliput smoothed over and. stippled with a section of toothbrush for texture and the blocks cut with a small screwdriver. This was then painted and garnished to taste.
The sea is my favourite no depth system which is basically the sea floor is painted silver, a coat of clear of choice painted on, a greenish grey irregulally slapped on leaving patches of silver showing. A couple more coats of clear, then another wash of greengrey more clear, more greengrey, more clear.(a bit like slap on sand off repeat) Ihave some stiffish half dry Humbrol Clearfix that I dollop on for ripples, and then top off with some vintage 12 year old Klear that is also going towards solid as top coats which is where I am now with more klear to add for depth of shine

This picture of a Heller 1:72nd Ar196 that I did some years ago, shows the reults better. The sea being the thickness of the `green` line shown on the edge of base.

:dalek: Hi All
Grabbed camera back from daughter before she dissappears on her sponsored Great Wall Charity Walk, so maybe last pics for a while.
Small progress made as leg op is really limiting mobility.
Arms shortage no longer affecting the tractor drivers union Cap`n, and markings for C & T Stoff added for the rear motors. FOD guards added to intakes and a worried pilot (nearly finished) wonders about the valet parking.

I'm glad to see you won the "arms race" HOG. The issue was never really in doubt.  ^_^

I just love your little details like the addition of the squiggly lines to the camo, the kill markings and the chipped codes on the tractor that really pull this masterpiece together. Excellent work!

Hi All

Decided to cut this one short, and detail to the minimum. The Pilot figure was moved to the middle area to make the dio look more balanced and a few boxes etc to hide his predrilled hole. A rope to a moioring post and a bit more water and thats it>

Enjoy,
regards Gary :dalek:

You've got another winner there, HOG! I like how the pilot figure balances everything out and the boxes and rope really adds to the realism of the scene.

Wicked.  I was thinking this was 72 scale, and immediately had the notion that it would be uber-cool to do a hangar version of one of Revell's U-boats, with the wasserflug in some kind of waterline diorama.

Looks great.
