I'm salavating already!!!! I seem to be on this trainer kick all of a sudden. I want to build the Hawk100 in USAF markings my T-4 in CAF markings and now this!?!

I may just have to pick up some Hawks for the future!!!

Hmm, my plans are expanding...

If I can get hold of the decals/weapons I think I may do a 3rd Hawk (100) for the One week GB.......  :dum:

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Yesterday was gloriously hot and sunny for the first time in months, so what did I do?

Yes, that's right, sit inside and model!    In my defence, its my weekend of nights and I had the house to myself for once.  Making hay while the sun shines, if you'll pardon the pun  ;)

Cockpit, OOB.  Not my best cockpit ever, and I have no idea how accurate my painting of it is, I was just trying to busy it up

Then the main airframe went together quite quickly.  It'll need a bit of filling and sanding, but its not as bad as oooooh, the TSR2  B)

And guess who forgot to add nose weight?   :banghead: Not that there's much room for it.  So I had to cram a load of bolts and screws in 0.000000001mm in front of the CoG  :dum:

Really enjoying this so far.

Wow that looks great Nev! I really like how you "busied up" the 'pit! That beats my best cockpit detailing effots hands-down! Looking sharp!

The Hawk features a prominent Miniature Detonation Cord (MDC) in its canopy, which Airfix chose to include as an engraved feature on the inside of the canopy piece

This can be turned to the modelers advantage.....

Take some Tamiya white (or other acrylic paint of choice), load paintbrush with white, and then dip into some water to thin the paint.  Then carefully brush the paint into the MDC engraving, allowing the thinned paint to flow into the recess.

Don't worry too much if there is an excess of paint in the canopy.  Give the paint a minute or two to dry, then take a dry tissue and wipe away the excess.  For more stubborn paint moisten the tissue and/or use your fingernail to give the tissue a hard scraping edge.

Et, voila!

That one still needs a bit of touching up, but for a first attempt by a muppet like me, not bad eh?  Thanks go to Jonathon Mock for showing this top tip over on Britmodeler.

Despite building this Radish style I decided to open up a couple of vents that Airfix have flashed over

One last shot underneath.  Main construction almost complete, not far from priming now...

Still really enjoying this :)

OK, first one finished.  This was the one I did for the 1WGB - since then I've added the AAM-3 missiles, given it a wash and a little bit of weathering, and then a flat coat.

Really happy with how this turned out in the end, especially considering I was hating it halfway through painting.

Thanks to Evan for the Woody Woodpecker decals and AAM-3

Thats now 4 completed models for the year....just 4  :dum:

Woah that's really sweet, Nev! I especially like the two different tones of green you used in the camo. That really sets it off! First class work!
