hi all
the idea was to design a landing vehicle from existing tank parts...
the first idea was to use a M18 and let it swimm...
the second idea was...to use finally my tamyia stuarts buyed for 6$ each
I buyed some of these during an exhibition and 4 are definitely to much...
I made some drawings (posted below) and started to cut the hulls.
after three nights it looks not bad for me <_<
it was my attempt to construct a vehicle which could be designed before and produced quickly after pearl harbour using mass produced parts of existing tanks.
as you can see the finished project differs "marginal" from the oryginal sketches
but...as I sayed before...two more stuarts are in the stash... B)
hope you like it...
I want finish it to an exhibition in september of which the guiding theme are LVT´s
I made some moulds to make the work easier and to save time...
the work continues

the oryginal idea scheduled plan body plates...but...you see
double sided tape was used to make  side templates

finished to this stage...
decided to design my own 75mm howitzer turret because I will made another vehicle build strict to my oryginal idea...
it will be equiped with the M5 turret
this one is now my "late" version of the LTP (Landing Tracked Personnel) with a big rear ramp and swinging water propellors (from an ESCI LAV-25)

front comparison with the LVT-(A)4
...do you mean I hit it (to) big?
its nearly so high like the LVT but from the perspective it looks bigger...

oh!...other idea during buildin g was to install this "modified" Hellcat turret .
it was oryginally designed for the swimming hellcat.
something like a PT-76 but for the final stage of WW2

the idea for the M18 turret was stolen from this M36 turret (italeri) made from a photo in a concord book

Extremely interesting.
Slab sides,modelling in straight lines.
Might be tempted away from aircraft,
Please keep us posted as to developements.
