OK, so I've decided to use an 1/72 Italeri F-22 for my JASDF build but I haven't decided which paint scheme to go with.

Kind of a toss up between these unless someone can suggest another cool option.

I've always loved the blue on blue but I'm curious to see what a Raptor would look like in the green and tan camo too.

if i were you, i'd go for the 2-tone blue

I'll be the contrarian and vote for the green and tan. You're right, I've never seen a Raptor in those colors either and they'll set off the Hinomorus beautifully.

Not that I don't like that scheme but I was thinking something a little less like a demonstrator and a little more like an "in service" model  ;)

The Japanese have some great alternative schemes, I really like these agressor schemes too but it's not a regular sqaudron scheme...but then maybe it doesn't have to be, I think I'm confusing myself

Jeff, I was going to suggest an aggressor scheme myself.  Of the 2 you suggested at the start, the first is worn by F-1s (strike, anti-shipping) and RF-4s (recon).  The 2nd is worn by F-2s and F-4s for anti-shipping, and all of those roles are likely to be well down a Japanese Raptors priority list ;)

So yeah, I'd go for the Agressor camo - they do have a full-time agressor squadron, and I think their schemes are semi-permament.

An aggressor scheme seems a good option, as you can be really wild....otherwise, brown and green.
Whatever you do, don't do a grey one.
Hey...lots of dull metallic tones would be good...oh....that's the real one!

There's always natural metal? Yes, I know that's TOTALLY wrong, but hey, it'd look pretty

Well, grey's not necsecarily a bad option, if you can sex it up a bit, like this scheme I used for a SR.177 profile based on a Starfighter.  Gets the blue in without being that two tone scheme:

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Here's the pic I did the profile from:

Wether or not you go for this scheme Black, a sharkmouth would be nice!

Oooh I like the shark's mouth idea!! Lets face it an camo will look good on an F-22A because there's so few models out there with camo on them :)
Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try.

Cheers Jeff, got it now!  Very aggressive looking, would look good on the F-22.  Another option would be a bird of prey head/beak, those chines would lend itself to it & would be very approriate to the 'Raptor'.
