And now some of my faves

"Wheeler Field after the Attack"

This one we saw at our local club some month's back and it wasn't titled, the figure is from the Monogram B-17 kit and he's holding a cigarette, we thought the title should have been "Oops, shouldn'ta lit that cigarette so close to the fuel". The inspiration behind it was the the Modeller had broken the canopy and didn't know what to do with the model.

Winner of the Popular vote for best of Show
1/6 1970's Model Shop

An amazing blend of modeling and taxidermy, Lindberg Stilletto mated to a REAL bird skull!

Obviously this is only a taster of the 2500 models displayed, and my personal favourite for no other reason than it's just one of those Models that caught my eye and kept sucking me in, I just LOVED this one, an old Monogram Avenger

Now if anyone actually cares what I've been up to best part of this year here it is,

My Collection of 1/48 Spitfires, which did win a premier award, behind it is the collection of 43 Sherman tank vignettes/dioramas which took Best of Show

And I was also lucky enough to have my Cuban Sea Fury photographed by Fine Scale Modeler.

Couldnt have said it better.

I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Thank's Guys, the way I see it it was both an honour and a privilege to be able to help out and represent both this site and my local chapter, if anyones weekend wen't a little smoother because of something I did that was reward enough, but I got alot more than that, I met alot of cool people, made some great new friends, connected and got to know old ones better and just thouroughly had a blast. I advise anyone regarding anything, get off your Arse and get involved, you WILL enjoy it!

Folks,

Yup, it was a nicely done effort there guys!  Glad to see the What If crew holding forth there in the main hall.

And here's a pic of the cause of all that bullshit consternation!

Lots of good shopping  Unfortunately none for wiffing.  I purchased some kits I thought were difficult to find: 1/350 Gato submarine with GUPPY conversion sails by Tom's modelworks (to model the USS TILEFISH after its US NAVY service life), 1/72 F-86K by CMK, 1/72 Y-wing fighter by Fine Molds, Thhunderbird 4 and Thunderbird 2 combo pack by IMAI, and two 1/72 AMX-30s by Heller.

Supertom:
I am eventually heading to Indy (company HQ is approximately 10 minutes from your pad), however I haven't gotten my marching orders to Indy yet (I have gone to other places to get the clinical trials under my jurisdiction up to speed: Tacoma WA, Orange CA, Huntington Park CA, Phoenix AZ- only there for a day however). The slogan coul also be:

Honestly I found the concepy slightly creepy.  Not because of the skull per se, mainly because I have read too many books on serial killers and the like (and how they begin).

Now the blending of bone to plastic was masterful

In the meantime though, I was very much taken with the Schneider Race Group Build display.  Lotsa great What If creativity there.

Great effort guy's and congratulations Leigh.

Now in the final shot of the Floatplanes we get a tantalising glimpse of a SEAC painted bird - anyone know/remember what it was ?

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
