ok, the 1-week GB is now officially started, and im now preparing my model for building.
the model im entering is a 1/72 Matchbox Lynx kit, this however is an early lynx kit and will need some adjusting (especially the 3-window cargodoors) as i will be turning this HAS.1 kit into a HAS.3 kit, so i will need to make a few scratchbuild parts (most notably the sensor on the nose).

back history (article seen in Alt. news thread)

QuoteFlanders to recieve Lynx

Zeebrugge 20.07.07: it has been announced, following the complaints with the A-109BA, that the Flemish Naval Command has ordered 2 Ex-Royal Navy Lynx HAS.3 helicopters for the price of €20 million. the helicopters will be upgraded with the latest avionics and radar systems. the first is sheduled to be delivered to the FNC somewhere around December 2007. further details about the lynx order are unknown at this point, but what is known is that the helicopter was selected to improve cooperation with the Royal- and Dutch Navies.

ok, pic time:

1. a profile of the planned result (just like i did last year with my ryanair seahawk)
2. the look of the model up to now

i will also post reports on the progress dayly (i hope  <_< )

ok, day 2:

ive barely made any progress today, but i did managed to scratchbuild and fit the sensor on the nose, tonight i will be trying to work on it for another hour or so (starting with the painting of the pilots, inside of the aircraft and the cargodoors).
i might just add a couple of extra's to the helicopters, but i still have no idea what  B)

no pics today, soory  :(
expect progress pics tomorow  ^_^

Day 3:

woke up this morning, and had a quick breakfast. afterwards it was time to hit the plastic again

the paint from last nights progress was now dry, so it was time to but the interior and the fuselage together. the pilots were painted yesterday with an orange flightsuit and grey helmets. all that needs to be done is to paint and glue the sub-assemblies together, but that is easier said then done, as i still need to work on some minor modifications.

ok now, picture time  B)

1. the fulelage progress up to now
2. a quick view of the other sub-assemblies

Woo-hoo, good old multicoloured Matchbox sprue! :D
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Spey_Phantom

shifted the build into overdrive today, as i propably wont have enough time to finish it, with work and all. she is practicly complete, i just need to remember to respray my custom decals with blank paint again. here she is fresh out of the paintshop  B)

1. the Lynx with its english "Flemish Naval Command" encryption. soor about the quality, the camera doesnt focus that well that close  :(
2. the best pic of the lot, the other side with the dutch encryption "Vlaams Marine Commando".

(i found the mousepad on the rummage sale yesterday in a free box, since it looked alot like a tarmac, i thought it would look great to present models on it, and i was right  B) )

Have you got a macro button on your camera?  Its usually a flower.

And you're right about that mouse mat, good thinking *awards a spotters badge to Nils*

That was quick ! Nice work, Nils. You forget just how small the Lynx is until you see it's tail resting on a tin of paint.......

Neat idea, and I love the pilots in their submersion suits, nice touch. Looks like she need some weapons, tho.
