Is it possible to have a tank 'gasm?

Me likee.  Add screens to the turret and skirts to the sides to shrug off RPGs, and I could easily see this thing mopping up in Iraq.

That would make for a nice Iraqi/Afghani streetsweeper, wouldn't it?

I think it'd need a trailer to haul enough ammo for that GAU-8.

Makes for a nice idea if/when I have a spare M-60 or M-1 hull laying around.  Cool.
The Corps is a department of the Navy? Yeah, the Men's department.

Egads, I'd hate to be on the receiving end of that volley!!  It'd chew up Hinds like a buzzsaw!

Not only that but think of the  tank kills it would have too.

How about mounted on a Merkava then it would be easier for a trailer and direct ammo feed ?

Yep, incredible! Au fait, would it be possible to mount one or two GAU-8 on a turret, and use this as CIWS on a ship ?
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

The Dutch Goalkeeper CIWS already uses the GAU-8 :D

Cool idea with the DIVAD (whatever that acronym means - something something something Air Defence). Come to think of it, I have a Merkava in the stash :)

Actually, if you just filled the troop area with ammo belts, you wouldn't need a trailer. That would be a cool diorama, a Merkava with a GAU-8 and people loading the back with crates and crates of ammo.

On a slightly less OT note, this reminds me of the idea I had awhile ago for a M551 Sheridan with a GAU-8, fences, and reactive armor. I wish I still had the profile I did, but I lost it with my last computer.

DivAD = DIVisional Air Defence, iirc.

The turret actually reminds me of the Mauler tank from GI.Joe.

If not the Merkava, then perhaps an LAV/Stryker or Bradley/M113/AAV?  Add some more armor for its own protection, too.

Yeah, they should have built that instead of horsea$$ing around on the "Sgt. York". :ill:

Ahh...Sgt York, the Hero of Desert Shield.
Oops, that is another Whiff idea I have.

Wonder how the 30 would look on a Striker?
