And now the dilemma, originally what I had planned wasn't going to work out but then I thought I'd go with something kinda like this.

But then I started wondering what about this?

I won't be home tomorrow night and I have to be done by Thursday because I will be out of town Friday. What does everyone else think?

Dunno which scheme, but I dig those funky purple clamps!  B)

I love the funky purple clamps too! I picked them up while I was in the grocery store after seeing someone online else use them, they work pretty good and come in different sizes, best of all they are inexpensive

Imperial Russia?  Take your choice on the camo & Bort No's, & the roundel would give a different look.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

My vote is for the U.S. Navy scheme, Black Ops! It seems to work really well on this particular aircraft, and it looks a lot simpler to paint. Also, arrestor hooks are pretty easy to scratch from a paper clip in 1/72!

That Japanese scheme will fool a LOT of people. DO IT

Black Ops,

As much as I like the US Navy scheme, I also agree with Lancer - that IJAAF scheme will confound and consternate no few number of JMN's!

Little bit of paintwork done tonight.

Splotches could be a little better, feeling a bit rushed, I'm gonna have to try this out on something 1/48 instead of 1/72

Wow outstanding work, Black Ops! That Lavochkin looks soooo right in Himomorus it's absolutely scary! Your slick paint job, especially the prop detailing, is the icing on the cake!
