I've got one boxing of Valom's Airacuda, the YFM-1B.  It's not bad, some of the details like the exhaust a bit chunky, not much interior detail but panel lines look good.  I've not built it, but I've test fitted some of the parts and fit looks reasonable, with a fair bit of PSR likely to be required but not extensive.

It seems like it's one of those 'needs a bit of work but worth the effort' kits.  Here's a link to a build:

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

That Valom Wellesley's got to be SERIOUSLY good at that price!  :o

$29 for one when the old M'box kit can be got at auction for £5 or so is a tad steep to my mind.

I find Valom kits not too bad on the quality stakes, but they're typcial low pressure, low volume kits in that the sprue gates are large and you need to cut them carefully. Sometimes the parts fit isn't that good, but nothing that would faze an experienced Whiffer. They're nowhere near as bad as most Mach 2 kits are, as a yardstick.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Hmm? :-\

There's a Matchbox Wellesley on Ebay going for US$25 "Buy Now".

Maybe I'll keep watching for a cheaper Wellesley & a cheap Wellington. (I still want to build a Vickers Welleslington/Wellingsley! :P )

Yup Vallom are typical limited run producers. They make some interesting kits which tend to have a reasonable level of detail. They can be a bit fiddly to build but take your time and they come out well. The couple I've built were enjoyable builds

Two makes sense - the LRDU variant with the faired engine, and the standard Mk. I with the "open" radial. A Mk. II with the long canopy would not be bad either...

Nice to have an option to the Matchbox kit, though, even though the Valom kit will certainly be pricy. But maybe Matchbox prices will drop?

Thanks for the info!

Nice, I do like these slightly odd Bomber/Transport Inter-war aircraft, other than the rigging on some of them  :-\

Hell's Bells this is tiny! TWO 1/144th Fokker Dr.1s in a box for £11 seems reasonable though:

Likewise, two 1/144th Texans for the same price:

Yellowness seems to be a theme here..... ;)
