Meh. Anyone can clip the wings off an aircraft and call it a car...

How about a real challenge - a supersonic motorcycle?

Only two wheels allowed, in tandem. The rear wheel must supply part of the motive power. It needs to have an exposed rider, motorcycle saddle and handlebar steering - i.e. it must recognizably be an MC.

My current thinking is that I'd end up with something like an Anime style chopper - bigass tire at the back, wheelbarrow wheel at the front. Power supplied by a pair of afterburning turboshafts, with a differential link and chain drive...

I wouldn't know where to start building it though, since I can't see the aerodynamics needed in front of me.

Well, there is a two wheeled LSR & the machines just end up looking like the cars just skinny:

Sounds like what your describing is a drag bike:

For someting like that to go supersonic you'd need a large front fairing to put the exposed rider & rear of the bike in an aerodynamic bubble.  Something like the front end of a Bullet Train maybe?

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

For some reason I keep thinking of the Airfix 1/32 MGB in the stash...

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

LSR designed by Tom Daniel (of Monogram Rommel's Rod fame, amongst other models and cars) for Gary Gabelich.

All hail the God of Frustration!!!

I love Tom Daniels designs.  Would like to get a few of the cars I used to have.
Moebius is working on a repop of his Rommel's Rod but with detailed running gear to replace the 1 piecers of the original.

Still got to pick up a Lightning for this GB.

Is anyone working on some sponsor decals for this?

Mmmm, sounds good, how would you go about it?

Did we ever set a date for this one?

I finally got a Lightning but now need to add some spats for the rear wheels.  Not sure I am up to making my own as several others here seem to be able to do.  Have to see if I have any spat donors in the stash.

By the way, if anyone is up for making decals, I need a couple sponsors.  Whatifmodelers.com or course, Airfix, Testors, Avon (for the engines not the cosmetics) unless I decide to up-engine it, etc
And the name "White Lightning" but not sure if I want to paint it mostly white or white letters on some other color.

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.

Guys,
The LSR GB is lagging in the June/July voting, again.
There have only been 7 votes for (and you can vote twice, ok, not for the same one but...)

While I have an idea for the Spitfire GB, the Grey Pride does nothing for me and my Lightning is just getting dusty.
BDB is sending me some spats so all I really need now is someone to make some sponsor decals in 72nd scale.
Any decal gurus want to do the following?
English Electric
Rolls-Royce Avon
BP
Whatifmodelers.com

Oh, yeah, go and vote LSR.

Done, and I even have 1 of the three kits I need for my idea.

Agreed, personally speaking I find Grey Pride to be the dullest notion for a GB in ages.

As to sponsorship decals, I can add those to my Lightning profile and work the graphics up in Illustrator,
however, if you want any of them in white, we'll have to find someone with an ALPS.

I'm still going to do my Lightning as a Bluebird;D
