... well tail fin have changed and nose is even longer: in the event, Gripen's proposed tail fin had swept trailing edge.
Thinking in F110 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Electric_F110
What can I do with slots in aft fuselage?
Close them / split them to make fresh air inlets / ...

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Already looks different to the standard Viggen Carlos, I'm sure the end result will be great!  Personally, I'd fill the reverse thrust slots, since it wouldn't be compatible with the F110 & you'd probably not need it as I assume the new version would improve on the STOL characteristics.  Which kit are you using, the old Airfix version?  Looks like it with the flat spine, but it's a long time since I built it!  And what kit is the forward fuselage from?

yes, it is old airfix model. Front fuselage comes from a minicraft F-18: I took away lerx and introduced wedges to deepen up to required size.
