As we continue pouring forth the fruits of our great revolution, I would like to show you a possible companion for the great symbol of the Soviet Navy, the aircraft carrier Sovietsky Soyuz.

I give you the battleship Kursk!

Note that this portrays the vessel as she was during the 1950s. Naturally, since she shall be portrayed escorting a carrier built in the late 1960s, she will have been upgraded, like so:

Looking in the Western Capitialist press (Conways All the Worlds Battleships) the only possible choice for a hull would be a USS Iowa class Battleship as its the one one nearest the right size & shape.

The Sovyetskaya Ukrainina class Baattleships appear more appropraite with the 3 x3 406cm guns, very similar to Iowa .

Any data on the Stalingrad class Battlecruisers, as they sound to be ideal escorts ?

I am aware of the "real" planned battleships, but this ship is so much more interesting visually!  B) I could build a model of the most likely Project 24 battleships, but this one really catches one's eye, and demonstrates the superior skills of the Soviet Naval Revolutionary Design Bureau.
