A perfect candidate for Styrene Junkyard  GB, indeed
Will die without understanding this world.

Every piece come from unidentified, started but unfinished models. Got in a Junk lot in eBay
Central fuselage and tail from a Me-109G
Nose from a Mustang, it had to be widened and deepened
Wings and wheels from another Me-109G
Propeler from an Airfix spitfire IX

Of course, some scratch and a lot of PSR

Are you sure that nose is from a Mustang?  Looks like a P-40 to me...

It is from a Mustang, but modified. the bottom is a spare part from Italeri Spitfire IX.

Anyway I plan to repeat it as Real World, and the P-40 is a good idea. I will see ...

Holy cow this is absolutely astonishingly amazing, Ysi! One of the best examples of "styrene surgery" I've seen lately! What an excellent way to recycle a junk lot!

Gentlemen, we are in the presence of greatness.

I don't know how long since you were 4, but Pegasus had a kit, not bad BTW & Classic- something made one, as well as a 2 seat version. Don't know if they're still around but should be on eBay, like everything else, at some point.

Yeah, I've seen it around, and believe it or not saw one in a bulk lot in an NZ online auction! But the b*st*rd wouldn't sell it separately! Would be keen to get one though.

Yes, ysi, please post finished pics! Real-world scheme? Or something a bit more whiffy?

Either way she'll be a stunner! Woo!

QuoteThe Pegasus Buchon was awful.  It was one of his really, really early kits and on a par with some of Merlin's crimes against modelling Humanity.  I've got the Classic Plane one somewhere in the loft and it's quite nice apart from the fin/rudder being too small.

I suspect that the fuselage of this Buchon is actually a KP Avia S199 - the white plastic and the shape of the rudder gives it away.  Not sure where the wings are from, possibly the vile Airfix Bf 109G-6 but the upper wing bulges are giving me a headache because all the kits that I know have those wing bulges have a different breakdown or no rivets.

For what it's worth, you'll have to whiff it because for a real world Buchon, it's the wrong airframe - Spain got about 20 crated Bf 109G-5s, which had the smaller tail/rudder and the small wing wheel well bulges.  The airframe you've got appears to be a G-10 with the tall tail and the larger saddle bulges that appeared on the G-10 and K-4 variants.  My suggestion would be to just do it in real world markings anyway and say that Spain bought a load of late 109s.  It's a subtle one that would look just different enough.  I would however replace the canopy with the late war Erla hood (aka the Galland hood) from a Heller Bf 109K for better continuity.

I built the Pegasus kit about 20 or so years ago. IMO, it's FAR from a Merlin kit! Other than being molded in clear plastic, it was typical of limited run kits from my experience, even as I recall now & required just a little clean up. I'd never compare it to Merlin crap! Maybe I got a better molding.

Nice work, great job on the nose.
