I absolutely LOVE helos yet have only ever built two, in 1:72 scale and not very well done.  Something about masking the fragile little windows on the bigger helicopters scares me (except for the simple canopy style helos which are really no different from fighters).

This GB might be just the thing to motivate to get over my rotary-phobia.  I'll gladly donate a helo kit as a prize, too.

Perhaps if it gets going i might do a Saudi Arabian Comanche...

I'd be in if autogiros were included.

I could be tempted - I've still got all those gorgeous Osprey profiles of Maverick to do (if I ever find an Italeri Osprey!)

Maybe a Merlin tricked out in Spec Ops fit?

Yep, rotodyne and autogyros are welcome!

I guess your in Jon!

Since this thread was first posted, my stash has recieved a glut of Helicopters, so I'm definately in, & pretty sure it'll be with a Trumpy Chinook, although I may well change my mind.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I remember someone suggesting a while ago they'd do an armed police helo - what a bizarre concept.....

Yes indeed...

I think a UH-1, fitted with some weapons bits from an AH-1 would make a fine police helicopter

I've got 2 AH-64D Apaches, a UH-1D, a UH-1B gunship and an MD500. I'm in just say when and where :)

Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try.

This might finally convince me to make that modernized Cheyenne I've been fiddling with for like...ever.

Wasnt you also going to build some kind of Sea King - Blackhawk hybrid? Nudge Nudge

And this GB will HAVE to let JHM enter 2 of his helicopter builds that never got anywhere. The infamous WUH, and the A-10 helicopter...

Got an Airfix Rotodyne, that I was considering for the RAF 100 theme, (but ran out of time), that could well see the light of day again, as could my 1:48 Ka50. The Kamov, of course, could also qualify for the 2009 SIG display ;D

Currently collecting bits for a Belvedere Whiff that would fit well with this.

2 Rotodynes, one started, one USN gyrocopter destined for the ** (to be a surprise), one V-22 destined for the Mexican coast guard, and one TAV-8B which will end up in the USN or maybe RAN.

Also an Aurora USS Guadalcanal which either be the real world USS Inchon as mine command ship, or go to the RAN.

Yeah, I'm up for this build.
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.
