  I just went by eyeline. It would have been nice if they had made the reception holes square instead of round. Bloody Italians.

I don't know if you had the same fit problems that I had, but this is looking really good. I like the colour scheme, especially the black under surface, which I'd never have thought of for a Backfire. (And it confirms my opinion that, despite its many faults, the Esci/Italeri/AMT kit still looks good built straight out of the box.) Looking forward to seeing it finished.

Thanks!  Yes, the psr bug had to come out major league on this dog...you just have to hate how some of the joints go together, especially the front fuselage to the main. Yikes.  I shifted the nose angle by a little bit of sanding, and it looks pretty close to the 26 ...close enough for the Ceylonese, at least.
