Excellent news!!

When I rule the world this will be funded as a part of my RAF Historic Flight.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Mossie

Ahhhhhhhhh.

Fingers crossed for first flight.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Captain Canada

I'll be cashing in some retirement savings and coming across the pond with the kiddies next year if that thing is flying !

That's how special the Vulcan is !

WOO!!!!! My heart's racing so fast after watching that!!

I've done my part to help '558 return to the skies where she returns - I'm keenly awaiting my Vulcan patch, Vulcan keychain and Vulcan diary to arrive from Bruntingthorpe.

FORTNIGHT TO GO! WOO! WE DEMAND PICS!!!!

I'm with you guys -   Greatest.  News.  Ever.

I slung them some cash too, and it's truly a worthy cause...there's not a plane lover in the world that shouldn't be excited by this.

It should be part of the historic flight.   Along with a hunter, javelin, lightning etc etc.  Now, if they would just do the same to one of the TSR2's eh?   Would look great with a vulcan on one side and victor on the other.

Of course the RN's historic sea vixen, scimitar, buccaneer trio would look great too...

One day i'll be rich, and it will happen...

Bloody typical isnt it?

i live only about 30 miles away from Bruntingthorpe, and i was on leave at the time. Except i was 500 bloody miles away!
Good to see her back were she belongs thou, id have loved to have been there to see her fly again, as i was there at cranfield 14 years ago for her last show as RAF property.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

I have to ask...why do you feel the need to make the B-2 look bad?   ;D
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Already managed that, at RIAT (or was it Farnborough?) when a Rapier system tracked it!    "Erm, how much did you say we spent to make this thing radar invisible???"

Fingers crossed the old girl will get her certification for the early Airshow season, then the money will start coming in & we don't have the occassional missed heartbeat when a minor problem crops up.

It was Farnborough. I know because my brother in law was working for the DRA at the time and they also tracked the B2 with both a new IR tracking system that he was working on and something else which he couldn't talk about .They got pictures of the IT images and took them over the the Northrop stand and showed them to the Northrop people. The reaction as was related to me was not nice. The Northrop people then said that the stealth capabilities were switched off!!!! packed up thier toys and went home.

If it had been flying @ 60,000ft+, 50 miles away, and they didn't know where it was - then I would have been impressed, and the USAF would have a problem.

But tracking it at low level, when you can see it visually....?  Not quite as impressive it it ;)
