I don't know what else to say! At first I thought it was a Comet fuse!

Supremely fantabulous Lee! I want one!.....in 1:144!

Sublime is the word that comes to mind for me. Outstanding!  :o

Stunning build Lee.  Beautiful work.

Now, do another in Transport Command colors!  ;)

I cant help but wonder though if it may need a horizontal tail of some sort with that much weight aft of the wing? I bet a nice swept VC-10 horizontal stab would look gorgeous on top of that tail.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Well done -that's an oustanding work!-
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Fabulous mate - I  would never have known that the fuselage was balsa...the very thought of using it on a project of this scale terrifies me!

She's a beauty alright - and will look amazing with the VC-7!

QuoteLenny, if you want to do it, do it.  It's based on a real project and I can't claim it as my own, although I extrapolated forward on the design based on changes to the Vulcan as the drawings and models of the "real" thing have the straight leading edge of the Vulcan prototype (I have the 96th Lindberg Vulcan which has the straight wing so I may try it in a smaller scale!)

Zac, don't be such a puff!  Build it in 72nd and have done with it.

Nick, it's strange you should mention the T tail.  One of the lads from wor club (who's an aircraft engineer) thought the same thing.  I do want to do another in the grey/white scheme but the V1000/VC7 has higher priority.
I'm sure the VC7/1000 will be just as impressive.

You have to wonder if this design would end up coming full circle in the real world, and long after the Vulcan is retired, find itself converted from a cargo aircraft to a cruise missile carrier.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

For those who weren't at Telford, Lee had a grin like a cat that had got the cream.  He was clearly very proud of this beast - and justifiably so.

Nick - quite a few of us thought it could do with a T-tail of some sort, but as Lee pointed out to us, he took it straight from the plans.

The plans, if anyone is interested.

I've got most of my bits to make one of these only I'm using plastic, not balsa.  Lee had asked me to keep quite on the subject as he wanted to surprise everyone, which he has no doubtedly done.  My version would be a C.1/K.1 and I'm using the Flightpath B.1 wing conversion on mine.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

just orderd ythe paets for the hp 111 ( the hp airline varaint of the victor) to stand alongside this aircraft.
any body up for the third of the treo?

Me, I'm dishonest, and you can always trust a dishonest man to be dishonest.
Honestly, it's the honest ones you have to watch out for!!!

That would be Wooksta again and his quest for the V-1000 (Which i think he's gathering bits for as we speak.

Well who am I to argue!  Lord knows the engineers at Avro knew a heck of a lot more about aerodynamics than this lowly aeroplanedriver with a maths handicap!

This whole thread is starting to depress me though...the potential of the British aerospace industry in the 50s and 60s was incredible.  Now look at it; while Brazil and (no offence!) Canada are two of the worlds leading aircraft producers, Britain makes what, a few microlights and one aging (albeit very capable) jet trainer...?     :(

Who would have thought such a beautiful model could bring on such sad feelings.

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

That's a treat!

Is there a Working with Balsa tutelage session coming?

What a real beauty!  And it sounds like it didn't come easy, either.
