Spats made, attached and undercoated.  Bombs to go on and painting to do.  Progress pics hopefully tomorrow.  ;D ;D

Well, playmates, some progress.  As mentioned a while ago I'd decided to chop wheels up and mount them on scrap sprue of a suitable thickness.  Next off I carefully traced a 1/72 side profile of a Ju87 spat, cut out four copies in very thin plastic sheet, attached them to the wheel/sprue skeleton and slapped filler over them.  When thoroughly dry they were both sanded down to shape, as can be seen in the first photo with the one on the right more or less done.
Since then both have been shaped, attached to the model and undercoated.  2 bombs have been attached, with the paint on two more drying as I type.  As you can see, it isn't quite finished - what with the additional bombs, touching up the paint here and there (not least the tyres) and a coat of varnish.
Oh yes, and a backstory!
Should be ready by Friday night, though.

Wow that's just stunning kitbasher! I really like the meaty shape of those spats! Looks perfect for an aircraft built for combat!

I bet it's a blast strafing the pets/kids/significant other with that baby!

I like this  I'm particularly impressed by the home-made spats, having wimped out and stolen the spats from a Ju-87 for my own build - - -

.....Ah, but I'm too mean to buy a donor Ju 87!  Like my Piston Perfection Sweptfire, the Cheyenne is made from recycled bits (apart from paint and filler, that is)
And I very much like the spatted Hurri - could only have worked with the cannon, but that's probably just something subliminal on my part 'cos of all those tank busting Stukas!

You built spats from scratch, made out of PUTTY?!?!  <insert bowing smilie here>

That's impressive.  Great idea for the bent wings, too.

Earwiggo - almost not courtesy of the world's so-called 'favourite' airline - it's done.  Back story and other pics on the completed entries bit.   ;D ;D

Very impressive,  particularly the way you've managed to retain so much undamaged of the original model  -_-
(By an odd coincidence, the Hurricane that I used for this build was second hand and the original owner had cut the upper wings and bent the lower, apparently with a view to producing a gull wing Hurricane. You can see the join in the first build picture)

Pablo1965

I had not seen, perhaps a bit excessive angle of the wings, but I love their final shape and paint scheme.

Stargazer

Very nice build. I never would have thought that a gull-wing Thunderbolt could be so convincing...

This bird looks fantastic
