How about a Stuka with turbojets either under the wing like the 262 or mounted mid wing like the He 280 or meteor??? and built flush rivited to reduce drag and maybe a 50 mm gun in the nose

How about a Stuka that actually *was* a mail plane, perhaps for Lufthansa or SwissAir or the like?   Say an "R" model or so fully equipped with an underbelly mail pod.    It could even be paradropped in to obscure regions.   

It's a thought anyways.

I had an idea a while ago that I doubt I'll ever follow up - barking mad Eastern Front scenario of Germany keeping the Crimea and all the bits that tag it on to Poland etc in exchange for the Germans pulling out of Russia, handing over Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia to Uncle Joe.  Fragile but enduring peace in the east and not much chance of an invasion of France.   Italians left to its own devices in North Africa maybe.  Germany demobs the Ju 87 but converts them into single seat crop dusters for use in Pooland, Crimea and all of the Reich's newly acquired wheat bowls.
Paint them up like a lot of the Pawnees, etc - yellow and red!!

Japan and Germany co-operate a little in the naval air realm.

Oh my word – what could have been, if both Germany and Japan had of co-operate full stop!
I think we are very lucky indeed!!

- Japan could have real and effective tanks!
- Germany would have learned of the Soviet T-34 tank, before it being a shock to them, thanks to Japan's earlier encounter with it.
- Japan could have taught the German's about carrier operations and amphibious warfare.
- The Germans could have supplied advice and technology too the Japanese about air defence.
- The Luftwaffe could have 'Germanized' Zero fighters escorting its bombers over Britain, during the Battle of Britain – The Japanese Zero offering long-range and loitering time (unlike that of the Bf-109 and the vulnerable heavier and larger Bf-110)
- etc..........................................

Hoo Boy, don't get me started!! It's a favorite subject of mine. I have whiffed a few examples, and have more in mind. I made a Jumo-engined "Kate" in German markings for the Graf Zeppelin, fer instance (kind of a lousy picture). The Germans had no torpedo-bombers and few and LOUSY torpedoes---both of which the Japanese excelled in. One would think that fighting a potent maritime power like Britain, the Germans would glom on to ANY expertise from anyone who would assist them.  One of my whiff projects is a torpedo-bomber based on the Heinkel He-119.  I **LOVE** the look of that plane!!

This is one of my "pet" discussions about WW II. The premise is (and I know it's outlandish) is that in the Summer of 1940 the best fighter in the world was not fighting over Britain, but stuck in the quagmire of the war in China. I would have to say that the Zero was "in development" at the time, and not a "mature" weapons system like the Germans and their Bf-109's.  If, by some miracle, the Luftwaffe was equipped and trained on Zeroes instead just prior to the Battle of Britain.....??  Well, the Bf-109 was faster, had pilot armor, had more and better guns, and had self-sealing fuel tanks (as did the Spitfire). The 1940 Zero had none of those, and would have been VERY vulnerable, and if the Germans had insisted on the upgrades mentioned above, the performance of the Zero would have degraded. But.....!!!

as a historical addition , while not exactly valuable , could be that while the Zero gained some protective measures , extra guns etc but the range and climb rate suffered quite heavily ; I don't remember but the A6M5 maybe had the 70% of what the 'M2 had in climb rate . And the degradation in manevrability , however small might have helped late war American fighters as they outperformed the staple Japanese fighter and could even turn with it , depending on the engagement's properties .
