The prototype F-80 used a British-built engine (Goblin) while the production ones used a GE/Allison J33 which was inspired by the Derwent but is a more developed design that falls between the Derwent and the Nene in power.  Of course, the Nene was built by P&W as the J42, followed by the Tay, which wasn't built in the UK, as the J48.  There's quite the cross-pollination, here.

BTW, I've heard that one reason RR bought Bristol-Siddeley Aircraft Engines was that they were going to team with P&W on the JT9D and RR wanted to be the only British high-bypass engine supplier with the RB.211.  In the long run, 'twas eventually a good thing as it brought Sir Stanley Hooker back to RR when the RB.211 developed severe problems.
