Hi All
A little more done on the full model and its trailer

The earlier posted trailer looked a little to modern to me so out came the Evergreen and plascard and heres the result. And heres the kit on the trailer

Now I can either play with the plumbing on the engine some more or start to scratch the mobile portal crane which is under the models, hmm....or start another kit. ;D

regards Gary

Being a good dawg I did none of the above, but continued with the job in hand.

The Natter was given a coat of Revell matt varnish no.2 (which dries to a slightly eggshell finish and looks about in scale for Luftwaffy finishes of the period) and the window mask removed. Normally I like to do the frames in decal but was willing to give masking a bash due the rounded corners and reasonably happy with the result. Needs cleaning to remove glue from tape with lighter fuel and an earstick.
Using some old thick decals I sprayed the Tamiya yellow green and cut into strips to try to represent strapping on the `plywood` sections. The white slodges are/will be warning areas to stop people barking their shins on the trailer. (who writes this stuff-barking their shins?).
A question. Can anyone suggest an easy way of how I can I represent screws, nuts etc on the yellow strapping?
Regards Gary

Funny thats how I feel about your builds. I often start with good intentions and then rush the final few yards and end up with crap paint finishes, silvery decals etc, while yours seem and read as a steady walk in the park to the finish. A walk in the park implies simplicity, and that your models are`nt, but is intended to show the steady approach you seem able to do. My better builds are definately those that I lose interest in then go back a few months later and do some more until bored again.

Glad to see your Dalek is back.  That truly came out beautifully, one thing I would add onto JHM's advice, hit the midpoint of the drawn-in bolts with a very sharp silver coloured pencil, it gives a great "slightly worn" look.

Heyo`s All

Got a bit cheesed with planes, trollies and automobiles so I thought I`d have a go at somthing different. Here`s the first side of the mobile portal crane for the dio

It`s 4 inches tall and still attached to the buildboard and plan and had it`s first slop of glue`n`filler to the joints, and needs cleaning up but quite pleased with the result, and a figure to give scale (48)

Now I just need to build a symetrical opposite, and find 8 suitable wheels fingers crossed.

ps Can any one suggest a tank kit with wheels 1/2" -6/8ths diameter?

HOG, Your build is superlatively magnificent.
I can't add any exclamation signs because I'm so much stupefied by the degree of realism and craftsmanship you put in your work.
I dare to say that you really love this build. It shows. I'm touched.

Well Thanks People.
It`s comments like these that keep me going and stop my head from getting through doorways. Can`t see why tho` I`m sure we all do equally mad things when the buildbug bites.

I tend to keep my build plans simple but are backed up by notes,as below. The doodle on the buildboard is just the dimensions and where lines cross drawn to size. The only inoventive thing here is that I lay a sheet of overhead projection film on the plan as I have not found a glue yet that touches it and the parts come away clean. Also the first few parts are cut oversize and superglued into position on the plan.

Some doodle are complicated, these are for the fuel trailer in the Ta183 Dio

While others are very basic and I wingit on the fly like in the Me262W builds tractor.

As usual all comments insults claims for damages etc etc
