The "last battleship" is on her way to becoming a museum.

Nice to see she seems to finally found a home.  She deserved it, and not a reefing.

Originally they wanted to display it here in the SF Bay Area in Vallejo.
Thankfully the ship will go somewhere where it will be appreciated- The SF Bay area is too politically polarized to appreciate such a vessel.  Supposedly at one time, quite recently, the Philadelphians offered to transfer the USS OLYMPIA to San Francisco (since it was built in SF)- because of the stupidity in the SF Bay Area the Philadelphians realized that sending the OLYMPIA back was a fool's errand.  Sadly the OLYMPIA is deteriorating within eyesight of the USS NEW JERSEY (an IOWA Class battleship) in Camden NJ (the other side of the river).  Hopefully everyone gets to see this ship before it rusts itself to oblivion.

At least the Americans have preserved some of their Battleships. All we in the UK have are some Guns. And we can't even preserve some more recent retirements Line HMS Plymouth a ship that was part of most phases of the Falklands. HMS Caroline is being removed from her home to Portsmouth at some point.

Interesting.  It looks almost as if they got the sequence of photos back-to-front.

Indeed.

'Preservation' seems to be a dirty word in the UK for anything that's historical. It's always down to individuals rather than national or business enterprises to try and keep some historical item available for future generations to learn from. (Says he who's just forked out some SERIOUS money to move a significant railway vehicle that had been ignored for far too long......  :banghead:)

Did british ever mounted 15 inch naval gun in triple turrets?

Not that I know of, although there's several here much more knowledgeable about naval matters.

Nelson and Rodney had triple 16in guns and so did the planned G3, although I'm sure you know that after your fantastic Nelson build.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

No the preferred format was twin guns for 15inch turrets, although all were from WW1 era (Vanguard got the former turrets from Courageous and Glorious which had been preserved as spares following their conversion to Carriers and were what made Vanguard cheaper!!!)

The Nelson & Rodney and their G3 forbearers had a new triple 16inch turret although an alternative proposal at the time was for twin 18inch turrets. The KGV had Quad and twin 14inch turrets and the Lion class expected to follow on had a new triple 16inch turret in development.

Were Lion's turrets equal than Nelson's? If new design, is there any info about it?

A new design from what I recall with greater elevation and improved handling, but would need to check references

The Lions' designed 16" guns were a new design that would have fired a heavier shell at a lower velocity than the Nelsons'.

I found first profile in the internet marked as HMS Barham. I think that its bow is fictional. Am I right? Anyway I like mentioned bow and grafted it in HMS Warspite and HMS Royal Sovereign.

Yes it is fictional. Barham had a more typical bow of the period. Vertical descending to a ram type, although I wouldn't call it a ram bow.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

It looks very German with the cowl on the funnel.

Did any British battleships have cowls like that until the Vanguard?
