The long rumoured Airfix TSR2 now looks to be confirmed for late 208 release at £27.99.

This was the reason the 1872 version was not reissued and nicely follows on from the Canberra kits.

In terms of improements over the 1/72 version, i'm not sure hopefully the Cockpit and variaus bays will get added detail, and maybe the kit will work better in 1/48th scale.

The down side is that the size of the thing will mean only token numbers on the SIG stand as it will be a big beatie :D

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Not interested in 1/48, does they plan to release again the 1/72 model ? I need another one for an "heretic" build

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

There were rumours about a 1/72 rerelease in a few years, I don't know how this 1/48 version will affect this.

It was considered for the Hornby relaunch as would have been easy to to get moving quickest (Moulds in China, where as others were being retriebed from France).

However they have decided on the 48th version so the 72nd version wont be about for another 3-5 yrs until demand picks up. Hopefully by them they might consider adding in a new sprue for Pylons and weapons and maybe a possible operational scheme for the decals ( I wish)

Being a 1/48th man, I may even be convinced to do something with a TSR.2 (not my favourite aircraft) if this is true.

Suggestions?

Wow, and er, yes!  B)

I can only see myself getting one, maybe two.  Not because of the price (very reasonable) but because of the SIZE!

Great news  :tornado:

I would think it depends on what the Dollar is doing at the time.

Maybe one can scale-o-ramed a 1/48 scale TSR-2 into a 1/72 Vulcan replacement ? four seats, big bomb bay, and so on...

Didn't someone here do something like that?  I seem to remember seeing one that looked like a scaled up, four-engined version.

That's the strangest rationale I've ever heard. Don't they realize there's demand right now? I had the misfortune of not getting one (or more) when they were available.

I was talking to a Hornby rep today asking when the 1/48 TSR2 was due and he said that they should be getting the second test shot of the kit back this week and if its ok it should be out in December but if it has to go back again it'll be January, also said they are doing a Valiant but that'll be later next year and this years main release at Telford is a ship.
