Looking killer Greg! Aren't those tail stripes fun? You'll need two more to hit the requisite 13 (add a red stripe on the top and bottom of the rudder and you'll be there).

I like the red prop spinners and your weathering on the panel lines. It's touches like that which can really make a model eye-catching!

Only one more torp to let dry, and then assembling the assorted bits and pieces:

WOW!!!

This is eye-catching!!!

I assume you're going to pose her with bomb bays open, showing those torps. Great!!!

Hate to dissapoint, but the torps and ashcans were meant for racks on the wings. The M would still carry four bombs, but the rest of the bulk of the plane was geared for fuel and electronics, to make room for the up-strengthened wings and the massive 37mm cannon.

Some damn good egg nog! Wished I'd had a bit this Xmas...the missus doesn't care for it, and her folks are teetotaler's. What a yawn.

Maverick

It's a bit late for this comment I guess, but I'd have ditched the bombs and loaded up the bay with depth charges.  Free fall bombing isn't that effective against ships, whilst a batch of cans would definitely ruin a sub's day.  I have to agree with torps externally tho, as the -17s bays weren't big enough for much of anything beyond 500lb & 1000lbers due to poor foresight on the USAAF's part.

Neat build either way Greg, looking just the part.

Mav

Couldn't put it better. And I'd never have believed that this was the Revell kit if I hadn't seen the build thread.

and the motion is carried.... Outstanding work. Once again you've given a fresh look to a familiar subject. SWEET!

Absolutely gorgeous.  It's impressive considering the kit you used but the most eye-catching thing (to me) is that it is such a different scheme and role for a B-17, yet suits it so well.  This is terrific stuff, Greg.
