Sorry for the blurry picture.  My camera is battery-challenged tonight, and for some reason it won't focus properly when underpowered.

This will be an in-flight build, and armament will likely be a PAVE Knife pod, and some LGB's.  I am thinking possibly doing an SEA camo job, but would much rather do an alternative, digital/splinter whiff naval scheme on the blue side of things.

The kit is the 1/48 Lindberg, kindly donated by Jschmus (along with some other great stuff) for the Secret Santa exchange.  The cockpit and instruments are from the Revell F-106 (from my tabled twin-engined Dart idea).  Engine nozzle is obviously from the F-14 (also Revell).

I think it will only take about 4lbs of putty, epoxy and styrene to get this one home, but it's got a good start.

Better and more pictures will be forthcoming.  I wanted to show off the cockpit, but that will have to wait. . .

Cant wait to see what evil creation you will come up with this time!

Intriguing.  As for the blurry pic, I'd say your camera is simply picking the shelf in the distance as its digital focal point as those books seem to be in focus.

Might want to pull back 6 inches from your target and aim a tad lower.

More pics requested, in other words!!!
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Okay, this is a little better.  You can actually make out the seat and control column from the F-106 now.

You can also see the Dauphine, one of the other SS exchange kits, that will be getting a sort of "Dazzle" EMS scheme.

And just because I can, here's a preview of the cockpit for my 1/32 PAK-FA project, based on the truly awful Testor's F-22.

The model looks good from what I can see, Noxioux. Very interesting concept.

All the suggestions JHM has posted are good ones. Also, a tip I use. Since I take all of my pictures on my computer desk, I grab a couple peieces of white paper from my printer. I use those to create a kind of back drop for the model. Otherwise, my camera focuses on the wood grain of the desk. Try not to put any creases in the paper, just make smooth bends if you have to fold it. Use whatever heavy chunk of something you have on hand to keep them in place, and there you go. One other thing, if you can, try to brighten the whole room, not just the model. It cuts back on the glare.

Sorry for the long-winded reply.

Here's a little bump, and some new pics of this project.  Wings are on, and more and more putty is getting plastered onto it.  I think I'm going to find a nosecone or 1/32 bomb or fuel tank to sharpen and lengthen the nose a little bit.

Somehow I knew that kit was going to need more skill than I could muster.  I'm glad to see that it's in such good hands.

Thanks man.  It took me a few days to decide exactly what to do with it.  But one thing I like about this kit (and the revell kits) is that there's plenty of thick, tough plastic to work with.  You don't have to be afraid of hurting it.

Here's a few more pics.  I made the mistake of priming it before I sorted out the canopy, but I wanted to see how the shaping was really going to look.  You'll notice the shoulder-blister for the gun, and the revised nose.  I am wondering about going whole hog and adding a fairing-mounted infrared sight, a-la-flanker/fulcrum.

I'm leaning toward a naval dazzle scheme on top, black on bottom.  I got a thing for black bottoms these days. . .

Dig the black undies, that is going to look nice and menacing with the top on. Understand your feelings on the Testor's 22, it should come with a bucket of putty.

That looks very

Just killer, noxioux! Personally, I'd leave it black and put red codes on it for a nightfighter scheme.
