Couple of close-ups, for better or worse.  That's genuine Ms. Hitler hair for the dual aerial lines, btw.

And, listen, I realize it all looks cozy and incredibly sultry-warm in these pics, so I pulled back and took this one so you can see the photo-set-up and how I froze my frickin' hands off so I could share with you!!!

Your modeling scales have remained sharp Baz! Sweet looking build. It looks like every detail was attended to.  I( bet this would look good next to your 1 wk build from '06'

I wish I had been the person in your story. Great story!

JHM, super job on that one.   The hand painting turned out fine.  It's hard to tell it's not airbrushed.

Too bad about the weather.  I guess I won't tell you that I was driving around today with my convertible top down.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

Beautiful work Barry! Just love the markings, gives me some ideas for the one collecting dust in my stash.

One of the most beautiful step-by-step builds and products fom the Howling Mouse Fun Factory(TM)!!!!!

That backstory is superb!, I felt like watching Raiders of the lost ark again!!

Thanks for sharing, Baz!!!

It's a warm (pun intended) feeling watching you build and share with us again.

Yowsa an amazingly stunning model accompanied by a Pulitzer-Prize contending backstory! Mr Howling Mouse, yet again you've produced an entry worthy of our delight and awe!

I love how you rendered the painted-out codes and markings and you really showed your skill with the hand-painted python insignia! I am sitting her in total disbelief! Outstanding!

Hi Jhm
Very nicely executed, but a likkle nit pick, wouldn`t the overpainted markings be slightly darker than the faded surrounding paintwork?. Love the pythons, which one`s  Monty?

I can't believe that's hand brushed. How did you do it? (type of brush, paint thinning, etc.) The faded roundels , cobra, EVERYTHING about the model is fantastic! The pilots don't even look that light in the loafers anymore.

I kinda wondered about this, myself, and tried it both ways since I've seen overpainted areas both lighter and darker on different real aircraft.   In this case, the codes they painted over were white, so I figured that white undercoat might lead to the finish being lighter in those areas.  In the end, I just thought it looked more subtle with them lighter than darker.

Very glad to hear people enjoyed this one.  I owe this re-entry into modelling to BdaB's insatiable love of SPATS!

Hi Bas,
I`ve just come on the `puter to remove the last post, as thinking about it lifes to short to worry about the paint around a model, but you`ve already gone and replied. So I can only add one of my favourite trekkie quotes slightly modded:-
`It`s a life Jhm, but not as we know it`
