I notice a bit of a JMN thread about the Nimrod developing on Hyperscale..... :dalek:

Didn't take them long, did it?

As I post, I don't mind knowing about inaccuracies, I'll post them myself then decide if I want to fix them or not.

But somepeople go OTT

It'll get to the point when a kit manufacturer will just say "Why bring out a new kit at all if all we'll get is slanged off" even if the kit was perfect they'ed still twist about something....................

Dont bother getting dragged down that path, if you want to discuss Nimrod Accuracy go see the Nimrod section on Britmodellers that Dave mentioned as that has a fair number of Nimrod guys who still like the kit despite some issues.

As for the Hyperscale forum i would avoid any threads relating to Airfix products as their are some Anti-Airfix trolls with an irrational vendetta against the company :banghead:

For What-if discussions of the Nimrod then please continue  ;D

So Todds thinking of a JMSDF version to go with his Canadian one ?

Yep, like one poster said - "the same old characters pushing the same old vendettas" :(

Hmmm, JMSDF Nimrods  If only you could find some Japanese P-3 decals....

Yep, and it seems that a particular individual doesn't understand the difference between discussion and diatribe.

Would that be in the two tone blue camo ?  ;D ;D

Still think a Chilian AF version would look good as payment for helping during the Falklands war

I wish I had the (a) money (b) time and (c) space to do the whiff Nimrods I want to do - please please scale it down to 1/144th Airfix!!

(i) Hawkrod - Nimrod fuselage with E-2C radome, and 'comet style' nose
(ii) R1 with RC--135 style side cheeks
(iii) Range instrmentation aircraft (effectively Nimrod with front AEW radome only)
(iv) Tanker (re-roles AEW aircraft)
(v) ECM aircraft (another use for redundant AEW airframes)

Are you trying to say you want some ? I've got Japanese Neptune decals....and French Naval neptune decals, if anybody wants some.

And no dice, Geoff.....I can barely afford the one I have on order ! Mind you, she would look absolutely splendid in Japanese colours.....

Just remebered, Iranian F-14A did a handful of Nimrod profiles.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Another thought, Orions have been used as water bombers, how about the Nimrod, especially surplus USN or Canadian aircraft?  Aero Union colours, or even Newfie Carrot & Peas???

Probly not - that's a JASDF scheme, only seen on F-4s and F-2s, although now some of their UH-60Js are wearing it as well

I was thinking the classic white over grey with the stonking big squadron markings on the tail.  They now have gone to an all grey camo on their P-3s, BORING!

No, I haven't even got a Nimrod yet....

Now that you mention it, an early variant in Aeronavale service (blue like the Lanc  ) would be a good idea !
